Would it be possible to set up a separate forum dedicated to speculation concerning Bungie's future products? I've noticed that there isn't anwhere for all of those speculators to congregate, so they've taken to annexing The Underground instead. Every time I sign into The Underground, I am bombarded with fifty posts, and they all say: "HAlo 3!!!!!!!!!!!! Shud they bring bak hAlo 1 piztol?" I thought that The Underground was primarily for old skool Bungie discussion, and not about what fanboys want to see in Halo 3, or about what they decided to nitpick about in Halo 2.

For the sake of sanity, I am begging the Forum moderators to set up a forum dedicated to speculation, so myself and others can kindly ignore it. Let me know what you think.

Actually The Undergound is for Old School Bungie and Bungie General, meaning anything w/o another specified forum (i.e. Halo 3) does, in fact, belong there. As for your Idea, I agree with you. The reason they have not made a Forum is because Halo 3 is not confirmed yet. Though, if you just make a Forum for Bungie Future Project speculation it would fix this. As it stands its not up tt the Mods, its Achronos who can do this. Make you lea to him. I personally think a Futrue Bungie Project Speculation Forum would be a welcome addition to the Bungie.net Forums.

Look at the top right. You'll note the Underground is for "Bungie General and Oldschool games." Creating a "speculation forum" is a problem for multiple reasons. First, people would decide that it "confirms" whatever rumors are the most popular, because suddenly we've given a means of support for the spreading of rumors.

Second, once the next game has been announced, a "future game speculation" forum becomes a bed for spam and drivel, and nothing more. Given average time to develop a cycle, that means we'd have a perfectly useless forum being filled with crap for a number of years.

It's not as difficult as you are making it out to be to ignore the speculation threads. They're perfectly obvious, after all. Just don't read them. It's that simple.

Actually, I think Achronos would be the one to ask. And if I remember correctly, major changes will occur when Bungie announces their next project. Before you ask, that will be Soon™.

The Underground is not just about old Bungie games, but anything Bungie that already doesn't have a forum specified for it, which includes speculation of the upcoming project. When ever it is announced there will be a new forum. Also, the forum moderators don't have control of the site, Achronos does.

I'll be on my own side.

Even if they did make the forum, what difference would it make? Rumors would be on other forums still. People try to report cheaters in the Septagon and Underground, while whining about Elongation in New Mombasa.
