Aren't we due for another forum to get rid of the crap that is reigning free in the underground?

I realise that it's probably already in planning and/or on the list of things to do... but the poor Underground never gets a break these days...

Tristan ;-)

-Tristan also highly suspects a name like "The Ark" for a Halo 3 discussion thread...

I think the next forum will coincide with the next project, which I doubt is Halo 3.

The Underground is serving her purpose. Let it stay that way.

Yup, Achronos Said something along these lines: Once we announce our new game. We will redo the forums and make a new one just for that game.

I don't think it was that specific. As I recall, it was more like this. "There will be big changes to the forums when we announce our next game."

I fail to see how the Underground is serving 'her' purpose... Especially with the big "NOT A HALO BOARD" stamped at the top... Go figure...

No, I said that the forums will probably stay in their current configuration until a new project is announced. It is likely that appropriate forums will be created for that projects, whatever it turns out to be. In addditon, others may get "adjustments."

The Underground is for Bungie-related stuff that doesn't have its own forum. Speculation about our next project, or the Halo movie, should go there.

Do you plan on changing the discriptions?

Even though such Halo game-oriented speculation conflicts with the rules as stated and stickied by the mods... Maybe there should be a rework of the posted rules sometime sooner?

Tristan ;-)
EDIT- Perhaps even a "Halo 3 speculation" thread stickied would help to control some of the spammage...

Now that Gaara, is a brilliant idea. I mean, there's a halo movie thread, so there should be a halo 3 thread right? perhaps then other threads would get more of a chance.

  • 09.14.2005 3:05 AM PDT

I'll be on my own side.

There have been attempts at making such a thread, but they usually get lost in all the spam. A stickified one would be better, but it won't happen until Halo 3 is announced, as creating such a thread would pretty much be a confirmation of it's existence.

Put it this way: If a moderator were to sticky a "speculation" thread on Pimps at Sea, Phoenix or Halo 3, many will think that is "proof" for said game. Like Rip Saw already stated, The Underground is doing it's job very well and doing anything else would just create more rumors. C'mon, Bungie is about busting rumors, not creating them.

I just said that! I guess if the mod says it it's "official".

It's weird; everyone seems to think that the mods know all about Halo 3.

Whoops. I literally stopped reading your post right before you said that. Hehehe.

Many people think mods are more than what we are. Sure, maybe some of us know some stuff (some of us meaning Shishka), but the majority of us are just fans of Bungie like everybody else here. We don't know nothin'.

I wonder how many guys you've banned because you didn't read their whole post :)

I doubt even Shishka knows any more than the rest of us. He's no longer at Bungie. At any rate, the mods know about as much as we do, so don't flod their inboxes asking about Halo 3, or Pimps at Sea, or Phoenix.

Trust me, I read a post about 5 times prior to blacklisting somebody, just to make sure I didn't read it incorrectly.

Ah I see. It would be funny if that happened though.

Back to the topic of a Halo 3 thread.

I doubt it would even be necessary, as I'm sure there will be a Halo 3 forum to go with it's announcement. Achronos also said some other forums might get "adjustments". What could that mean?

Hopefuly it partly means that it will be more obvious what the forums are for (for the people who clearly have no understanding of the word "read" and who can't be bothered to read the forum descriptions and stickies in the forums.)

To Rip Saw: I thought you left Bungie.net for a while due to some school work, as far as I remember, that was what you wrote in Mr. Smileys Xbox Lounge, wasn't it?

Well anyway, maybe a moderator could make some kind of sticky called "Bungies next project speculation" thread, or something like that wich will keep all the halo3 threads togethers, so they wont drown The Underground, like usually.

Then have a Specualtion thred on Bungies next game. that would solve your problem.

For example:
"Next Game Speculation thread"

Discuss what you think bungies next game will be here.
Note: Anything in this thread is Pure Speculation and can not be taken Seriously.

Perfect! Couldn't be better! If anyone thinks that a thread like that confirms that Bungie's next project is Halo 3, well... then... they're crazy? Yeah. Then they're crazy... *leans back satisfied, and sleepy*

That's because you're nice. Some mods.(shishka) are willing to ban without hesitation. No offense to him though. This can be a good thing. Takes care of all the idiots.
