[edit] What version of Windows are you running? If you're not running XP or 2000 you will need to download a separate patch to make Doom 3 work. [/edit]
Peck, you're ignorant.
Anyways, whatever you do, don't give up. Doom 3 is one hell of a tech demo... and even though it's taken some bashing for it's formulaic gameplay, I found it refreshing to run and gun without another thought on my mind. The game actually ran at a playable framerate on my old PC, which I hope to soon replace. Anyways, good luck getting it to work.
P.S., don't blame id, they rock and John Carmack is nigh-infallable; blame Winblows. Also, if your account name is not actually Administrator there could be another Administrator account on your machine - it'll be invisible becuase that name becomes invisible by default in Windows. Anyone you know proficient with Windows? They could have the admin account on your machine without you even knowing it.
I'm running Windows XP. Haven't ever had a problem with it since I got it, so I doubt its the OS. I'll just call tech support tomorrow, and hopefully they'll have my answer.
