I think an ultimate level would be a level that is really tall with lots of hiding spots..(not camp spots) but just lots of little nooks and crannys to hide in.. since you can shoot out lights.(maybe not in multiplayer) The level has to have all vehicles and has to involve lots of short range combat...(thats how you prove if you are good at the game or not..) sniping kills on everyone in the map doesnt show any form of skill... it just shows you are a wuss and dont want to get into anyones face :)

although sometimes it is neccessary

I think I good MP map (maybe not the best) would be a forest setting where the woods are VERY dense. Like you look around you and you can't see anybody, just a lot of trees and stuff. There would be some paths/roads along through there too for vehicles and stuff but other than that it would be quite hard to know exactly where you are. Also, some trees would have ladders or something to climb for sniper perches.

Mines more like a game type. Other games had it like Mech assult and UT 2004, Grinder mode. A.I. controlled guys would just keep coming until your dead. It'd start with a small group of: 5 grunts 3 Jackels and 1 Elite v.s. how many ever players there are. The waves would get more guys, better guys, and eventually use vechs.

The best level for this would be a city that has some small outskirt area. Snipers and close combat guys would be holding back covies, and maybe Flood or whatever other alien races, inside the city, while other player use vechs.

You could put some kinda' story with it, "This human city is going to be attacked. Hold of the attackers while people are evac'ed." Or "You and your team are stuck in this surrounded city. There is no ship nearby that can evac you, so make the enemies of man kind pay.... good luck."

I always wanted to fight 100+ covies with 10-15 other people in a huge battle.

The sketch of Burial Mounds in the new GI looks tight. 4 ATV's??!?! Yes sir, thank you very much. And in the interview with Char, he says that the level is a work of genius. And he was the best tester, and they played it for weeks. So I'm hoping that it kicks ass.

Um...what??? I know I'm new here and all, but I had to say something about this...I'm a sniper kind of guy, always have been. And I'm no wuss; I get in there and slog it out with my trusty shotgun just like everyone else. Sniping is indeed a skilled act; to some, it is an artform. Knowing that all you have to do is find that one spot, that one moment, where you can 'reach out and touch someone' and hear their curses from the other side of the room...it's wonderful, man. And you have to be pretty skilled to do it right - are you telling me that getting four headshots per clip isn't skilled? I think something's wrong with that statement.

You saved yourself with that statement, though I must point out that most of the best SpecOps units always have a trained sniper with them on field missions. Necessary, and useful.

Now, staying on topic here...

My idea: A dome sort of thing, like the 'Battle Arena' from Armored Core 2. Here's your spawn point with a big wall around it, all the weapons you want inside this wall. Outside the wall? Nothing but the sides of the area. Flat plain. Just you, your enemy, and the cheery whistle of bullets as they fly past. Up top there's a circular catwalk where you may find sniper rifles (only two of them) and ammo...ah. A slice of killtacular heaven.

{/two cents}

The ultimate level would have heaps of dark places with loads of indoor and outdoor parts and Sniper heaven and millions of -blam!- in your way so its impossable drive a scoripon and the size of the place would be 1,000,000 miles long and 8 stories high and don't forget it has to be on halo2. :)

Ultimate Mplayer level =

A Stadium in a human city. All the best guns, ammo, power ups are spread over the field. The better the weapon/power up the more central it is. You can run up over all the seating, hide in corporate booths and snipe players going for ammo. Access to dressing rooms, canteen, etc.
