Hey guys I just go Halo today. I have spent the last 3 hours installing and uninstalling. Updating and everything possible. I have an AMD 2800, 512 megs of ram, 120 gig hd, an ndvia TI 4200 card. I have not had a problem running any game. I updated the drivers. The problem is when I try to run Halo, all I get is the screen that says HALO and thats it. Nothing else. It just stays there. Can anything else be done. I already exchanged out the game and got a new copy. So anyone with some ideas please pass them on. I don't want to have to return the game.

Thanx.

TI-4200 are probably the best low end cards (if you will) you can get. I know it pwns my 9200 (se and regular versions). What I can suggest doing is install Halo PC, then manually run Halo PC update. It will be in your Halo PC folder, and it is called "haloupdate.exe" and the icon for it is the legendary symbol (two swords on a shield with an alien skull on it). this may fix some of your problems. Also, if new drivers arent working for you, try some older drivers. Sounds crazy, but new drivers with new tweaks sometimes effect old tweaks and screw things up. Thats all I can think of for right now...

Well the video card it self should not stop the game from actually going into the menu. I have more than enough specs to run this game. I have always wanted to play halo, but if the game is to picky on what it needs to run, it just doesn't seem right.

I have done the HALOUPDATE.EXE. And still nothing. I just don't get it. Why would it hang on the HALO SCREEN? I appreciate the quick response.

There are other things you can update in an effort to get halo to work. Go update your soundcard drivers and your chipset drivers. You could also try updating to the latest version of DirectX.
