I have a screenshot of the ark and it looks like the Ark eats planets? Is this true?

Wow, that is one fiiine screenshot. The Ark's primary purpose is to fire all the Halo Rings at once. Beyond that, I do not know why it's so god dang gi-massive.

As well as firing Halo Rings, it is also capable of making the Rings when one of the original Rings are destroyed. As well as transporting/teleporting the replacement to the correct location.

Ok, but what is that planet or w/e it is in the middle ???

The ark doesn't only fire the Halo arrays it also builds replacement rings like the one at the end of Halo 3 it was a replacement for instalation 04, it also is the device that creates the artificial shield worlds like onyx that's what it is showing in the picture is a new shield world being developed by the way where did yo uget the pic?

Alright, so it was made to serve 3 purposes
1- Fire the Halo's incase one of them was stopped from firing.
2- Making more Halo's, Shield Planets *like onyx*
3- Hosting all lifeforms that where collected before firing the Halo's

PS: and on wiki it says that the planet in the middle of the Ark is used as salvage to build the halo's and shield planets and etc etc

If it ain't my chair, it ain't my problem. That's what I say.

Well, look at it's name: The Ark. Think Noah's Ark. It protects all sentient life from the Flood/the firing of the Halo rings (it's not in the Milky Way, so it's not affected by the firing of the rings).

You destroy HALO. the ring....

that 'planet thing' in the middle is a mineral-rich planetoid that's mined and used to build replacement halo rings.

seriously, halopedia, it's your friend.

That "planet" you're seeing is most likely the ruins of high charity. The ark is the back bone in the forerunner plan to stop the flood as it has 3 functions:

1) Create/replace halo arrays
2) Remotely activate all the halos at once
3) Index every species in the galaxy.

You are stupid :)

The Halo Ring that was destroyed in H3 also destroyed The Ark, Ending the Trilogy.

R.I.P Bungie.net

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

The Ark is outside the Milky Way, it's a safe haven for all who are on it because the firing of the Halos doesn't reach it. The planet in the center is called the Foundry, it's a giant ball of minerals that Sentinels gather in order to create a new Halo ring (should one be destroyed).

It was creating Installation 04B, but John destroyed the Ring by making it fire prematurely (before it was ready) and it collapsed in on itself. The debris of the Ring shattered the Ark and critically damaged it.

You're joking, right? Not only is High Charity not on the Ark when you first see it, we know what it is - as stated above, it's called the Foundry. The Halo Rings don't just appear by magic, the Sentinels harvest minerals and materials from the planet to make a new Ring if one is destroyed.
