Subject: Halo CE lags on 360

Hi, so I am playing Halo CE on my xbox 360 and, it lags when I get into tense fights with lots of enemies, I have put the display to PAL 50 instead of 60 so it doesnt lag when I run around, it only lags when there are intense fights, anyone know why?

It has something to do with the fact that the entire game is on the hard drive.

Halo:CE also lags for me but it depends which game ur playing. If u hav the game disc for ce(original xbox game) the game doesnt lag at all. But when i bought it of xboxlive marketplace, i played the game nd it does lag in battle scenes nd so forth. If u hav the game disc, play it off that, nd if not soz for u.

It's like a gigantic snowball, rolling down a mountain, eating kids on the way.

I think you'll find the reason is that CE was developed many years ago, when the likes of the 360 and our super modern tv's were only pipe dreams.

I was the 2nd to last person to get kicked off Halo 2, see the thread Here

The Xbox 360 version of Halo: CE seems to be very glitchy for everyone. I'm not sure why this is, but you definitely aren't the only one with problems.

I bought my disk copy of Halo CE a few weeks ago and play it on the 360. I haven't noticed any major slow-down so far, and I've played some pretty intense levels (up to The Library now).

Almost everyone I've heard from with it saved on the hard disk has encountered some form of lag unfortunately! Maybe there are steps you can take to reduce it...?

somewhere in the heavens...they are waiting. I love the Marathon Trilogy.
Halo CE will always be the best game in the Halo franchise. What a perfect game.
(Proud LONGTIME owner of the PC and Xbox versions of Halo CE)

It runs slow sometimes, but most of the time I can play it on my 360 just fine.

Unless you play multiplayer on the PC. laggiest games EVER.

Catch me on Halo. XBl: gobbybobby

Halo PC MP is pretty laggy. Some servers good tho

Lags on Digital copy? Must be slow transfer speed from Harddrive. (IE the xbox Hardrive is a POS) nothing you can do really. Maybe making some space, deliting incomplete/cancelled downloads/ but I doubt that make a difference.

The game (PAL) runs pretty poorly on my 360. The framerate feels sluggish and everything plays too slowly. It feels like wading through mud to be honest.

Real Gamer Tag is SmittyDSS

it always lags on the original xbox as well, especialy if you sit there and melee a body a lot of times

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

Game runs fine for me, but i'm playing it off the same disk I bought so many years ago.

I'm playing on an original disk as well, and I do get major slow-down in the larger fights. It's just the old engine trying to cope with a lot of crap on screen. It actually runs exactly the same on both original xbox and 360, whatever rumours you might hear about improved performance.
It's mostly vehicles that make it really bad though. A few ghosts and banshees and turrets around will cause a lot more lag than like 30 enemies.

R.I.P. Halo 2

By lag, do you mean low frame rates?

Assuming so, I get the exact same thing, it works better on Xbox Original. For some odd reason, the emulator that the Xbox 360 runs must not allow the 360 to use all it's resources whilst playing Halo.

The reason you are experiencing low frame rates, is because the game is not getting all the resources it is asking for.

Its fine for me are you sure your disk is not scratched or dameged in some way ?

This is the average H2 Fanboy.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

I think they mean Slow FPS/Slowdown by "lag".
Play it on PC or xbox original, it's glitchier on 360.

I found it was performing at it's worst on the second mission when you get on the warthog. The frame rate goes to about 1/second... And this is from running off a disk, I'm so glad I checked here because I was about to buy it off the marketplace assuming the performance would be better.
