By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.
So I recently decided to go through the Halo games again (my annual tradition before the next game is released) and upon seeing Halo CE with a bit of dust on the cover, I suddenly remembered what this game meant to me.
I first played Halo CE at a friend's party in 2001, he'd just brought a new Xbox and Halo CE came with it. I was first to arrive at the party and he showed me the game case, the first words he said to me were: "You're going to love this."
There was a good hour left before anyone else would arrive, so we spent that time sitting down with a controller in one hand and pizza in another as we played through the first three levels on Normal.
Playing through the game again has brought back great memories I've had down the line; from culling the Covenant under cover of night, to getting caught in the midst of an all-out war on the Library (on Legendary).
I greatly look forwards to Reach, it's great to hear that Bungie looked to Halo CE for inspiration in order to make the most fulfilling experience yet.
Halo isn't just a game, Halo is an experience.
