I heard that 60hz tv's are better to use with halo 3 because halo 3 runs at 30 frames per second. Is this true? Because I'm thinking of getting a 120hz tv for reach.

A couple of people I played with that had 120hz tv's said something was up with them.

A 120hz tv just allows you to actually see 120 frames per second, of course your eyes can see more than that, basically, if you get 120 frames on 60 hz, compared to 120 frames on 120 hz, there is a huge difference, it feels a-lot more silky smooth, sort of like an old CRT monitor

the problem is, you won't be getting 120 frames, as this is some simple casual console game with a locked up console

But, i'm sure you can benefit from a 120 hz television, movies will run smoother, certain games will definitely run smoother, but make sure you're not buying a piece of crap, try and buy something under 20 ms delay (please be aware, if you ever see something that says 5 ms delay or below, it's complete bull-blam!-, we don't have the tech yet to get below 15 ms on these lcd/ plasma screens

Anyway, buy the screen, it will feel more smooth.. but you're going to burn a hole in your pocket

Do you know a good website that has input lag times? By the way I heard that sharp, LG use something called an xgen panel display that helps input lag. I think sony uses the same thing but the site I go to told me that the sony xgen panels actually had more input lag than sharp and LG's xgen had less than sharp.

Oh yes i do, now, i'm assuming you're buying a television, and not a computer monitor, so i'm going to link you directly to the television comparison part of this site

Basically, it will display everything from input lag, contrast ratio, viewing angle, ghosting, everything you can need and want to know...

http://www.digitalversus.com/duels.php?ty=10

Enjoy your search, by the way, try and find a television that has 120 hz and isn't an LCD, it may be harder to find, but trust me, if you're serious about gaming, it's the only way to go..

If you're not serious, but just want a better experience, then go for the lcd/plasma by all means

Yeah, I have a sharp 32gp1u which has a 6ms response time, so that kinda shows you how old the set is although I think it is the first xgen panel display that was made for gaming about 3 years ago.

I am looking at a monitor too. I'm looking at the samsung px2370 which I hear is good with a dvi to hdmi cable (which is a new concept to me). And for a tv I'm looking at a LED, a LG 32LE5400 which I hear it is a xgen panel display so it has good input lag and at 32 inches it is the same size as my old one so I'm not dealing with too much real estate. I'd like to get a LG 32LE5300 but they don't carry them at the best buy I wanna go to.

The only problem with digital versus is they don't have anything. They don't have a review for the tv I want. Thanks dude very informative, anything else?
