Ok ok, alot of talk has been going on (not particualrly recently) but in general about a online version of Halo:CE. I've tryed XBC, and while it can have some satisfying moments, the lag KILLS what little fun it can offer. I, along with many others, would like Bungie to release a Halo:CE Special Edition that is pretty much a port of Halo PC. I know I know, a port of a port of an XBOX game is stupid. But Halo PC has new maps, the flamethrower and the fuel rod. I'd be satisfied with a normal version of Halo:CE just as long as it went on XBL. Dont get me wrong, I LOVE Halo 2. I play it EVERY DAY. But sometimes I just have the need to want to play Halo 1. If you are by any-chance reading this Bungie, please listen to the fans on this one. I can assume that the majority of Halo 1 players play Halo 2 on XBL...and there is a very large profit potential in an Online Console version of Halo:CE. And please dont lock my thread, I want to find out how many of us die-hard Halo fans would really pay $50 for an Online-enabled Halo: CE.

Remember: GameSpot, as well as many fans, have considered Halo: CE to be a classic, up there with DOOM and Half-Life. Please dont let this opportunity to re-vitalize a classic pass away. I'm sure that it wont effect the number of Halo 2 players on XBL...

Dude, be quiet about CE. Your last comment blew your entire argument. Never use Gamestop as a reliable source, they are thieves. Secondly Halo CE was the greatest game ever until 2. You will never see the likes of CE again. H2 was designed specifically for XBL. If Bungie were to make CE online, it would be so different from the original, you'd probably just be -blam!-ing some more.

Your opinion. Mine (and that of many others) is that Combat Evolved is a thousand times better than Halo2.

I've heard that Halo:CE might get remade for the 360 with Live on it. There is no way in hell they'd alter it in anything other than graphics. Most people (including me) would complain.

Meh. Even though Halo 1 doesn't have online, I still like it the way it is. Just because it doesn't have online, it makes us take initiative to host LAN parties just for the game we love. I wouldn't think the online play with friends is the same as in a LAN... You know, there's food... company... Yeah.

ACTUALLY, I said that I liked Halo 2 AND Halo: CE. There are things I like more about Halo 2 (vehicle jacking, for one) better then Halo: CE as well as there are many things I like about Halo:CE that I hate about Halo 2 (sword, superjumps, umm MATCHMAKING).
Notice how i typed i like BOTH Halo's, as I enjoy them very much. Hence my idea: take the best things about Halo 2 (one thing and one thing only, XBOX LIVE) and put it into Halo: CE. It would cost bungie a nickle to make a doller. And will probably add onto the XBL userbase since "so many people" claim they HATE Halo 2 as well as many people who hate Halo: CE. Either put Halo 1 on live or make ALL the levels from Halo 1 on content download. Preferably the Halo 1 remake (as one post said earlier something about improved graphics and xbox live). All they gotta do is convert it from the PC version back onto an XBOX again. Then they could charge $50 bucks for a game they are barely selling another copy for $20 because everyone already has it.

  • 09.16.2005 12:20 AM PDT

Runnnnnn!

I'll buy it if it was like 30 bucks or something.

  • 09.16.2005 12:43 AM PDT

I would most definitly buy it. And I bet they would get $125 million pre-orders again, you know why? Everyone that pre-ordered halo 2 thought it was going to be JUST like halo: ce, but with new levels, better graphics, xbox live enabled, etc... Bungie didn't have to go and make an almost all new game and slap the Master Chief and company in it. Halo 2 is a funominal game, but, it is not Halo: CE's susecessor.

Anyone who claims to hate Halo2, has no business even playing games. H2 Campaign is all it will ever need to be. It is far superior to CE. And, like I was saying, they would have to change Halo 1 a loy if theyt wanted to get it on live. That, and I guarentee, WILL NEVER HAPPEN. You will NEVER see CE on live.

I'm not trying to start any wars or anything, but, you never know. I never expected a Multiplayer Map Pack for Halo 2. Maybe Bungie's secretly doing something like this. Who knows? : )

But it does have online. Go to www.xbconnect.com to play it for FREE. That's right, they don't charge you like Microsoft does, then try to sell you new maps on top of it.

True. Plus, reading threads on this forum I can tell a lot of people never even played Halo CE. And, most people don't even know you can play it online.

And why is that? Just because Halo2 is your favorite game doesn't mean it's the only good game out there. There are hundreds of PC games that are way better than Halo2, and plenty of console games that are better.

H2 Campaign is all it will ever need to be. It is far superior to CE.

Halo2's campaign better than Halo:CE's?! LOL!!! That's a laugh. Halo2's campaign is nothing. One of the worst story lines I've ever seen for a game.

And, like I was saying, they would have to change Halo 1 a loy if theyt wanted to get it on live. That, and I guarentee, WILL NEVER HAPPEN. You will NEVER see CE on live.

Why would they have to change it? Halo is perfect the way it is now. They just need to find a way to deal with the lag and then stick it on Live.

i would expect a few new features, such as 16 xboxes LAN play.

i would also expect to see those halo PC maps on the remake.

thats it. if it had MM on live, cool stuff. if its halo2 MM or a real optimatch, i dont care too much. but one or the other, or both, but not none.

Yeah. I know that much. I'm just saying, LAN beats Online play anyday. And when I mean LAN, I'm talking the 4 TV, 4 Xbox, 16 player in one house LAN.
But when you play Xbox Connect, I am told that it lags like hell. Also, that defeats my whole point, saying that a real party is better than an online party. Kinda like the Real Life vs Internet PSA done by Rooster Teeth. Good times ^^

PS: Also, it would defeat the purpose of this topic here. This guy is saying that there should be an online Halo CE... Not Connect. So, my reply is: I wouldn't really care if Halo CE has an online feature. So, me, meaning 'official online' like Xbox Live.

Like Farcry. Loved that game.

And Ghost Recon 2. Now, that's a good military shooter. It's realistic, unlike Halo. I mean, Halo 2 is great and all when you first play multiplayer with friends. (Three days after the launch, a friend us mine held an 8 player LAN... It was basically the first time any of us had tried out the multiplayer. It was so crazy, it was fun.)
In Ghost Recon 2, I just had so much fun. I mean, you can't just run in the battlefield, frag a few guys, and then take them out with a few shots. No, you've got to take your time, find cover... And if people actually even try running out to do it Halo style, me and my Famas will take 'em out. Yep. Me, my Famas, and the bridge.
God, I'm such a camper in that game...

Halo: CE from Xbox on Live would be awesome. I'm not sure I would want all of the Halo PC additions however. The Banshee was a nightmare, and so was the fuel rod gun. Halo: CE on Xbox was magic. The additions from Halo PC just didn't work as well overall, but it won't hurt to have them as options.

Don't forget online and system link co-op.

Obviously Halo 2 missed the mark if these types of discussions are still taking place. The weapons are all hosed, and the campaign just bores.
