642,000 + Gamerscore. I love offline gaming.

I have a 22" Chimei CMV221D, which isn't even HD, and it still looks amazing. Monitors are wayyyy better than TVs, but you don't need to get an insane Monitor for Halo 3 to look good.

So get a Monitor, not a TV, but make sure you get one with an HDMI port.

Go for a monitor for the best experience. The refresh rate on a monitor is much lower than most [read inexpensive] tvs. this means shaving those precious milliseconds. keep in mind that to use a monitor you will need either the xbox 360 vga cable or the hdmi adapter from the first gen xbox 360 to be able to extract the audio. I have used the vga cable on a computer monitor and it really gave me the edge on geometry wars retro evolved 2 over my cheap 32 in tv

I personally like Samsung, however it is a bit on the pricey side.

If you want good quality for cheap go for a Monitor, then you can hook your computer AND Xbox up to it without any problems. (Its also easer for CaptureCards and curing boredom.)

However my Current set up is a Samsung 25ish in HD TV and a new Samsung Laptop. Linked up to my Xbox and my Laptop is my Dazzle DVCHD which runs on Pinnacle editing. I find this is a great setup, however it might be more then you are looking for.

As an owner of multiple HDTV's amd monitors I feel like I can help you.
One problem, your links aren't working; or, you posted them wrong.

OP, when I copy/pasted your links, it sent me to a page not found screen. But based on the info you have given, I say monitor. I personally did a lot of research on this when I was buying myself a new tv and I wanted an HDTV. And after looking at tons of different products, I noticed that the monitors are very little different from the HDTVs. The only one I seemed to find is that many monitors do not have a TV Tuner in them. However some do. I ended up purchasing this exact monitor from newegg.com. Sure it might be a little pricey, but if you compare the price to TV prices you might get the same size TV but the picture quality would be at best 720p and from less popular brands.

Hope this is of help.

I found some sweet LED/LCD 1080p tv's on Amazon for under 300 bucks.

Guess what?? Free shipping :)

You gotta go with the LED backlighting now on LCD's. Better colors and deeper blacks. Also, they're more energy efficient than standard CCFL LCD's. Oh, and they're the perfect size for gaming. 20-25 in. Especially for Halo, you need your eyes to easily view the whole screen without problems. As far as, response time I'm not sure what they're at. Anytying under 5ms is great.
I have a 47in LED/LCD 1080p at 2ms and a 22in 1080p lcd at 5ms. Both work flawlessly with Halo 3. And don't worry about input lag with these low end tv's. It's when you get the higher end $500+ tv's that you start to encounter more input lag with all the high end, post-processing effect the tv's do to make the picture look smexy. Like my 47in, better response time, but you can feel the input lag a lot more than the 22in.

And yes, they're at 1080p. Who still uses blurry 720p nowadays? (Hey let's watch a bluray movie on my 720p tv!)

No.

I'm almost positive when my monitor came from newegg, it was actually packaged in Canada.

Edit: I got it just before last Christmas, so its still pretty fresh in my memory if that makes any difference lol
