Everybody plays this game for fun, just because someone is good doesn't mean they don't play for fun.

I beg to differ. There are some players who actually take gaming far more seriously. Like having higher kills and lower deaths or going to 50s quicker while playing less matches.

They are still most likely having fun while doing that.

Do you think I'm playing to become one of the best Halo players in the world? NO. I play for fun. As for my ranked/social K/D, so what? There are other things that I am good at: helping my team to win any way I can do for them in ranked/social matches. I truly suck at LW (that's why I'm in 20s).

Having a .5 or whatever k/d isn't doing anything at all other than helping your team to lose.

I guess they should learn how to "have fun" like you and start running into shotguns in bubbles.

I just do not understand how some one can play a 1500 games and suck sooo bad. It baffles me.

Would you care to say that to gamers who are disabled? Gamers who are deaf? Gamers who has MS or whatever disability? Gamers who are disabled veterans?

You want to talk about disabled? This guy can't move his fingers and he's significantly better than you.

In it for the lulz... and gamerscore

So much of matchmaking is in your head. This wouldn't be a problem if everyone didn't freak out about "5 Star General" rating. That's why Reach will be great- hidden Trueskill. People won't quit out of games just because they think the game won't be fair based on rank.

its perfectly fair, adapt or quit.
It's perfectly fair, but it's also stupid. As previously said, you don't pit a professional football team against high school freshmen.
It's fair, but it's retarded, because it's painfully obvious who's going to win, and the freshmen aren't going to pull anything out of it other than frustration.

Exactly.

Who likes getting into games where they KNOW they're going to get destroyed, with no exceptions?

Yeah, my friends and I get this all the time(being matched up against a team of way better players than us). I have never understood how bungie's system thinks this is a decent match-it just makes it a crappy experience for our whole team; I'm satisfied, though, that karma will take care of it.

These people who can't seem to win on their own skill level, have to make themselves feel better, by cheating/decieving their way into a match that's not even...just to feel better. A form of bullying, I suppose-I liked the one guy in this post(col. robert?), who described it as "pro football team vs. high school football team"...very good description. It all works out, though.

I'm not making excuses. I never claimed to be good. I have never played any colonel better than me though.

They were just a bunch of randoms, you should've been able to beat them.

lol, are you being serious?

Some of us don't have the halo skill level as others-black and white. Most of us know it-and accept it. I prefer to play TEAM slayer-and although my own actions ultimately dictate my k/d ratio and wins, the largest part of this equation to me is the random teaming you get stuck with(are they going to watch your back, work together & call things out, etc).

That being said, I also know that on MANY occations, I am the weak link on my team-but always keep trying. I have a small number of friends who are just the greatest-and if we lose, eh. We don't mind a fair loss-just not so much ones that are off balanced. Try working on your understanding of other people(and I'll try to work on my BR skills :)

It's nothing close to making themselves feel better and it's not bullying.

Thus quoth the Raven, "Give me cookies."

Some people take this way too seriously.
Yeah, I've been paired up with some damn-high ranked dudes a few times (the other day I was against some dudes with over 15000 EXP), and yeah sometimes it pisses you off, but I think thats part of Halo 3; without anyone to kick your ass a few times and teach you a lesson, you get comfortable and don't learn anything new.
More to that, I do believe the matching system is crap, but hey, no pain, no game.
Maybe sometimes it isn't fair, and I sure don't like feeling like I'm going to lose, but you can learn something from it. Besides the fact that you lost. :)

So there's no way that a bunch of friends who happen to be good at game could go into a social playlist without being "bullies" (lol)?

And again, it's social. Social/hidden Trueskill =/= Ranked/highest Trueskill. If those guys haven't played much SBTB their Trueskill is low in it, and therefore the system matches them against bad people. It isn't their fault.

Leon of blades-you are sooo right! Don't get me wrong-we don't mind losing, when it's a decently matched team battle. But when you have people who de rank, and other such stuff JUST-well, they know it's just not the right thing to do. Our team will -blam!- a bit, but just move on...and learn a few things(your words were so true)...and we understand that life in general isn't always fair.

omg champion-I really am only concerned about ranked stuff, as that's "what counts". Social, is just social-skill doesn't seem to matter there, as much? I mean, if I get owned-meh, no big deal. It's social, which means to me "open to all skills".
Ranked, however, is more of a serious thing-skill levels should match as evenly as possible. You know?

Oh, I was under the impression that you were talking about the situation the OP is mad about. That generals shouldn't play social in teams just because they own the opposite teams.

Yes, in ranked it is important how players are matched against each others, and I agree with the stuff about derankers and so on.

Three square meals and Halo 3!

lmgtfy.com is that site that does google for you! OMG!

>>>>>BUNGIE IS NOT MAKING ANY GAMETYPE SPECIFIC PLAYLISTS UNTIL A WHILE AFTER REACH IS OUT!!!<<<<<

^^^For your Copying and Pasting pleasure. =]

It's just Social, so it really doesn't matter...

If they had to find another team of 5 Stars, they'd be there forever...

EDIT: Check this game out! It happened yesterday, I got 14 kills, the game went blackscreen, and I got another 30 before the game ended! :D

Sadly, everyone kept quitting so the game is "unreliable."

Matchmaking matches as it likes, and makes the person with crappiest connection pull host so that they have a chance to win (not true even though it seems to be).

That's your personal opinion, dude. K/D ratio is pointless. Next!

Dude, Kolorado11 plays about 12600 games since the beginning, way more than I do. When you play a lot of games over the years, you only get better over the time, disabled or not. I'm just scratching the surface here (I started Halo series in the fall of last year).

No, it's not at all.

If you consistently die twice as much as you kill, then you are a hinderance to your team.

Look at my k/d it's 4 something, that's why I have won all but 1 game, because I am killing waaaaay more than I am dying, hence, we win.

Not opinion, it's a fact proven by my winning ratio against yours in correlation to our k/d's.

EDIT:

OP, if you want to put this to the test, add me and my friend and I will take you and as many of your friends as you like on at once.

OP sux, .53 ranked KD is unheard of, 1500 ranked games and only in the 20s, .57 social KD, most kills (ranked+social) plasma grenade, only one ranked overkill, the list goes on.

Is it that so important to you that you has to have a better K/D ratio than others?

Some players aren't just in for better K/D ratios only, you know?

Fun is subjective.

Also as stated before they were most likely in a party, if that is the case then all you can do is suck it up and play(which I see you did).
