I haven't owned Halo for too long, but long enough for some fine memories.
The first time I played Assault on the Control Room on legendary. On the first time you finish the bridges and then go outside to meet the marines, the Covenant had already killed them. After like 20 tries, on 13, my friend and I managed to get the Warthog and drive it into the building and just use the turret. After 7 times, we finally cleared the area. As soon as we walk out, I'm like:
"Woah, these are weird corpses! They almost look like more Spart-- oh."
Yeah. There were all my corpses. It was heart-breaking.
The first time I played Silent Cartographer, my friend and I got lost down there. It was pretty dark. We spent til 1:00 AM and we still didn't finish it.
The Final Run on the Maw. It was so frustrating. When I played it with my friend, he basically did all the driving. But once, I fell into a hole, and my friend just left me there. Then, when I respawned at the checkpoint, my friend slowed down just a little bit, and I ran to the back like hell. I climbed aboard by doing this really sweet 'jump, grab spin' thing. I didn't even think that was a possible animation.
Another time while playing the Maw at the end, (it was only my second time) I had seen my friend do all these turns in the hallway, right? So I try to do the same thing, because I vaguely remember him saying that they could go on for miles... When I do the same thing, guess what? 1:45 left, I wind up back at the place where you get your Warthog. I was so pissed. I had to restart again... Poor Master Chief. Dead like the rest of the marines.
See, Halo 1 gives us all these memories. I really can't say that I remember anything really good that I did on Halo 2. I just remember that I didn't like the flood, and I hated the dark. That's it. All my memories of Halo 2 come from the Multiplayer with my LAN three days after its launch.
