One of my Halo 3 montages.

I just moved into a new place and got new internet. My download speed is 19.86 Mbps and my upload speed is 0.97 Mbps. Is that good? I haven't experienced a real difference.

Shut the hell up, Halo is my world

It's ok. What your ping is also is important.

I just moved into a new house as well, and my D/L is 16.something, and my upload is like .8. My ping is 110 to a server 50 miles away though, which isn't good, lol. I haven't played much, but I haven't noticed a difference from my old connection.

I'm moving into college in a couple days though, and my internet will be a lot better there, not that I'll be playing a whole lot.

How do you check what your ping is?

Also, speed really means -blam!- all. When my connection is shaped it goes down to 64kbs and thats no different to my usual 30mbs

Its all about latency nothing about speed

How does this go with Halo 3 again?

  • 08.22.2010 8:08 PM PDT

My download speed is 67.29 and upload is 1.03

My ping is also 49 ms. Is that good? I don't know anything about ping.

I was playing Halo 3 when I thought of it. :)

Also, when I tested my internet connection on XBOX 360, it said my NAT was moderate and that I need an open NAT connection. Anyone know what that means? I already tried turning off my router and modem for 30 sec and it sill says it. I even tried turning on the UPnP. Still, same thing. I'm not sure what else to do.

.:KOOF:.

You could try port-forwarding your xbox... I KNOW there's a tutorial for that around here somewhere.

Found one. Bit of a read though, but should help your NAT problem.

Hell yeah that is good! Do you have Fios or something?

Many of you people have very low upload rates. Less than 1mb/s! Pirates!!

My connection is pretty good although I am switching to a dsl connection because of a really cheap offer. :(

Current connection rate is at like 22mb/s dl, around 4mb/s ul, and latency is like 7-9 ms. My current ISP charges (with no bundle packages) like $60 month.

As for best? The faster the better however a better question would be...

what is the minimum type of connection can one have for a xbox live game like Halo.

Go on YouTube and look up NAT for Halo3 and also index your router type. You should be able to find a video that will help you. I did http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYUAL2bUGTc

Note, I live in the UK.

Download: 2Mb/s if I'm lucky.
Upload: 0.16Mb.s, again if I'm lucky.
Pings to:
- Washington DC: 468 ms
- Maidenhead: 523 ms

And people wonder why I say I get killed because of lag so much. :)
