Subject: Exp points needed or highest skill level.

I am a very consistent Halo player. My ranking has not changed very much, i'm guessing because i play alot of different game types. Right now my next rank depends on a huge amount of XP or highest skill level of 10. My service record rank is a Gunnery Serg grade 3. I'm guessing that the highest skill level is the skill level reach within a certain game type. Am I assuming wrong? Why am i taking so long. I have a friend that is a Captain grade 2 that needs less XP to advance to his next level or highest skill level of 30. Not really knowing what i'm doing wrong. Please help. Thanks.

You need to raise your skill in an invidividual playlist to advance to the next rank.

Better luck next time buddy.

I'm not sure if I understand your question well, but you don't need exp to rank up, you need them to reach another grade in your rank and you have to win a lot in the playlist where you highest skill is to increase this number and by this way rank up.

The "EXP Needed" is the amount of EXP that is required to be that rank, within that Skill Level. As long as you're below 10, you'll stay as some kind of Sergeant. Once you're between 10-19 with at least 70 EXP, you'll be some kind of Lieutenant, and so on.

You want to be Captain, Major, etc., you'll have to raise your level in Ranked. Highest you can get with the EXP you have now is Major, Grade 1 (Skill 30).

You can skip over some of the ranks depending on your highest skill. Right now, you need either 300 EXP to get Master Sergeant or a highest skill of 10 to immediately go up to Lieutenant, Grade 3.

To raise your highest skill, you just need to win a bunch of games in a Ranked playlist until the number next to your name goes higher than 10.

So you heard I slayed a Balrog?

For the next couple days, depending on how long each of your play sessions are, warm up in social playlists for a couple games and then play in the ranked playlists. You will experience a global rank up.

What do you mean by a global rank up....and why for the next couple of days.

They pretty much mean that when you go into a ranked playlist you will see a number next to your name and since you do not have any of those numbers at 10 or above you will take more exp to level up your emblem while your friend has a level 20 so he only needed 100 exp to be a captain.

Have fun with that because LW is not an easy 50, but it is a fairly easy 40-45.

There are two places where you see a rank. One is found in your service record. It is known as your global rank. The other is to the right of your gamertag in any playlist. Global rank is determined by a combination of your highest ranked achieved in a ranked playlist and your overall EXP. Playlist rank is determined by how much EXP you have in the playlist regardless of rank. I said for the next couple of days because I made an assumption that you're capable of achieving a high skill of ten , but that it might not happen overnight.
