About me: I am a vicious wolf of a man.

For some reason when I try to move a downloaded map from my downloads to the Custom Edition map files it gives me a strange error and will not let me complete it.

I am using Windows 7. If anyone could give me some help I would be most greatfull.

What is giving you the error, the Halo Maps website or Windows?

Windows. It downloads just fine, what is giving me the trouble is when I try to transfer the file from Downloads to the Halo CE Maps folder. It gives me an error and tells me to try again but never does it. Yet as soon as I close the error window it says it is copying the file yet it goes nowhere.

Something smells fishy...

Did you extract the map file from the .zip folder?

Try not directly extracting the map file to the Halo: Custom Edition maps folder. Extract it to your desktop or something and then cut and paste it into the maps folder.

Also, once in a while you will come across a corrupt map file. What I'm saying is that the map you downloaded could be corrupt.

Another thing you could try is to download another map from Halomaps.org and see if it works. If it does then you will know that the map giving you all the problems is likely corrupt.

Oh okay, what I was doing was as soon as it downloaded I went in the folder and put the map file directly to CE. Your saying I should put it on my desktop first?

I don't really think it was corrupted seeing as it was just Hugeass.

Anyway, now I need to re-install CE anyway. It says an essential file has been removed. Probably the custom UI I tried to add.

What I meant was that you should extract the map file from the .zip folder. Don't just cut and paste the map file directly from the .zip folder without extracting it first.
