In the last week I've been playing halo1 for a change, I've already done the first 4 levels on legendary... I've also done the maw before I got halo2. I'm actually having fun because its a good challenge and I've never done halo1 legendary on single player before.

My brother and I beat AotCR with no problem at all on Legendary...
...the part I didn't mention was that we used the no enemies glitch.

We're still working on Two Betrayals. Can't get past the first room...those darn jackals.

Well, i can beat the entire campaign on ledgendary without skipping any battles or using any 'no-enemy' glitches with reletive ease. But i just keep coming back for more, and keep beating the game, because no matter how many times i play it, it is still so much fun.

I agree...love Legendary with all my heart. AR might be the worst gun in the game, but its my favorite.

I've got Halo 1 Legendary down to a science. It's not really fun anymore because I know where the enemies are going to come from, how many of them, where to find ammo, when to conserve my ammo, ect. ect. The only way I die is during a freak accident, such as when one of my Marines blow me up with a nade. That's why I enjoy the Halo 2 campaign. It still offers surprises.

Bungie should have made it a 1 in 100 chance that a zealot spawns in a cargo module as you walk past or something... if it was halo2 it should crouchwalk right behind you and slice you in half - that would be so unexpecting! It would teach you to keep an eye out. Also we would have 100,000 people arguing that it was a rumor, and 10,000 claiming that its true :D

And people complain that the Halo fans always try to start the Halo vs Halo 2 arguements. Hmmm....

plus if you have Legendary down to that level, then you know that you played its levels a whole lot more than Halo 2. So of course Halo 2 is suprising, Halo was so over played the game ran out of different scenarios. Halo 2 has had its chance yet, and only a real nutter would play Halo 2 campaign that much.

Ive had almost five years of halo. I can beat legendary begening to end with the average loss of two lives through the whole game

i'm currently trying to beat halo on legendary, but the truth is i SUCK. i die at least 15 times each level, but i think it's good practice for me and will make the other levels even easier for me.

Beaten it twice so far. The first time I died over a hundred times (literally), but the second time I practically grenaded my way through the harder parts of the game.

I found the halo 1 campaign a lot more playable and fun! where as with halo 2 the only playable part is getting the sputnik skull and then blowing the crap out of everything

Well, yeah, but I wouldn't have played the Halo 1 campaign that much either if it had been online.

Halo 1s campain is so much more fun than halo 2s. There is just something fun about killing a hunter with 1 pistol shot and sticking an elite and watching him roar and sneaking up behind elites and wacking them in the back. Halo 2s campain doesn' offer any of that.

I find much truth in this. Though I like Halo 2 more, I find that it's campaign is more "run and gun", while Halo 1 at least offered the chance for you to be stealthy. but the whole killing a hunter with a pistol thing was kinda too powerful (though cool as hell.). I like that in Halo 2 it has to be a sniper (high impact shot) rather than a pistol.

You mean there's something EASY about killing a hunter with 1 pistol shot. Hunters can still be taken down in one shot, but it requires a sniper rifle in Halo 2. One of the things that I love about Halo 2 is the Hunters are not complete wastes of time. And you can still stick Elites and sneak about in Halo 2, as well.

I'll wait to hear some convincing arguments on this one.

Your wait is over...

I Love both games BUT. Halo CE's Campaign is FAR superior to Halo 2's.

Halo 2 is so linear... In Halo CE you had alot more freedom and had the choice to do different parts at different times.. e.g On the level "Halo" you could go to whichever escape pod you wanted and do them in any order.

Halo 2's levels feel clostriphobic and linear and I feel trapped all the time.

Another thing that annoys me in Halo 2.. There are FAR too many driving sections. I hate getting a tank and just destroying wave after wave of ghosts its so boring.

The drama of Halo CE is missing in Halo 2. In Halo 2 you rarley hear an elite scream in fear when you stick them. They just stand there like retards and blow up. In Halo CE he would scream and wave his hands in the air....

In Halo 2 bodies hit the ground to fast. In Halo CE they fell over realistically.. now they fall to fast now. Another thing... If your gonna do the flood, do it RIGHT. I mean tons of them.. wave after wave like in Halo CE.

Another point = There are power weapons lying everywhere in Halo 2. Theres a Sniper , Sword and Rocket around every corner. In Halo CE you were only given these weapons at certain points. It was more fun like that.

Playing as the arbiter is crap .. though that is an IMO.

Boss fights are crap... Halo CE's AMAZING driving section -blam!-s all over the Boss fight in Halo 2.

Dont reply with some crap that im a Halo 2 hater. Because I like it. Try and reply to my points so I can see how you think Halo 2's Campaign is better than Halo CE's.....

1. The level "Halo" is the only level in the game that let's you pick your objectives. I noticed in your reasoning in this you didn't mention Two Betrayals, which sends you to destroy generators, and you have to destroy them in a certain order. Or Silent Cartographer, where if you try and cut out security building and go right for the map, it will lock you out, so that you must do things in a certain order. That's hardly free-roaming. Anyways, the joy of free-roaming is that it lets you finds loads of eggs and fun stuff to do, and there are way more eggs in Halo 2 than Halo 1.
2. Driving sections abound in Halo 1, as well. And apparently fans wanted more of it, so that's what they got. Anyways this is more of a personal preference, thus you can't call this an argument. And you always have the option of walking . . .
3. There's plenty of drama in Halo 2. They just put the drama in the cutscenes rather than have it slow down the gameplay. Also after playing a level like 10 times, drama just gets in the way. I always just got irritated in Halo 1 when Cortana would start jibbering away when I'm tryin to kill something, and I absolutely hated the mandatory cutscenes (all of Halo 2's cutscenes can be skipped over). If you want drama, go play an RPG. Most people playing FPSs want to actually PLAY the FPS.
4. This is the worst argument I've ever heard. The corpses hit the ground too fast?! I'm surprised you didn't complain about the corpse-humping animations. This is nit-picking at its worst. I'm looking for real, concrete reasons here.
5. I don't know what difficulty you're playing at, but you need to up it if you think there are too many weapons. Holding on to ammunition is one of my main problems in Halo 2. Meanwhile, on "Truth and Reconciliation" in Halo 1, they start you off with a sniper and feed you ammo along the way. I usually spend the whole level with the sniper rifle as one of my weapons. While there may be alot of power weapons in Halo 2, it's hard to hold onto them for a while.
6. Playing as the arbiter is the same as playing as MC, except you get a cloak. So your opinion is ridiculous, and probably just stems from some wierd and misguided loyalty to MC.
7. I had been posting in Halo forums about two years before Halo 2 was released. I can't count the number of threads I saw that went something like "Are there boss fights in Halo?" As you can see, I like debating, so when in a debate with other players dissing on Halo, they would usually point out that there are no boss battles, so the game sucked. Just goes to show how elements of a game can be twisted to whatever people want them to be for. Also, you said earlier that Halo 2 has too much driving, then go on to say that Halo 1 biggest driving section is "AMAZING". Gee, I wonder why Bungie thought that fans wanted more vehicles??? Frankly, I think most of the problems with Halo 2 arose from Bungie trying to accomodate stupid kids who really didn't know what they wanted, but kept on talking anyways.

This is personal best at legendary in Halo...not a arguement board for Halo 2

Even though I'd love to point out why Halo CE is better yet again...I'd say just go to another thread that has the arguement.

hehe, i beat it countless times on multiplayer and single player, got where i used only plasma pistols through it later, they were very good in halo1, specially against the hunters, they made them jerk and stunned them so that you could run around them and wack them in the back or just go rambo on them and blow through a plasma pistol to kill one..got tired of shootting them with a pistol in the back or beating them down, got to where i was slaughtering hunters with needlers and plasma pistols, the plasma rifles were too easy to kill them with them.. the toughest part was the end level with all the sentinels, had to use a shotgun, much as i hate to say it, the shotguns took the sentinels and flood down easily..wish xbox had the flame thrower though, i love flame throwers!

Alright, Here we go :)

1. By free - Roaming I didnt mean in what order you could do objectives. Sorry if I put it across that way. What I meant was your could go around bigger spaces etc.. Another example on The Silent Cartopgrapher... It was one huge island and you could drive all around the island and you could go up through the centre of the island. Halo you can go all over the place , Two Betrayals there are large open spaces inbetween the corridors giving you a sence of freedom.

2. The Driving sections are done badly and feel like theve been made lazily.

3.Again, you misunderstand me.... By "Drama" I didnt mean cutscenes or cortanas voice. What I meant was the Elites scream when you stick them and roar when theyre about to die. (Never hear this in Halo 2) The grunts would scream "not again" and the action would be immense.

4. By commenting on the bodies , I was refering to the different Physics engine in Halo 2 . Its nowhere near as good as CE's

5. I play on Legendary... There are about 10 Snipers around every corner... most noticable on the High Charity Level.

6. Playing as the arbiter is not the same , (in terms of story). I always liked the coventant being complete enemies.

7. Boss battles are bad. And the driving section was amazing at the end of Halo CE. It was fun... with the timer and the big jump at the end. In Halo 2 the driving sessions are excesive and unnessicary... Oh and you try taking 15 or so Ghosts on legendary without any vehicles.

I haven't beaten the game on legendary (have done so on heroic though), but I really want to. I did manage to beat POA on legendary when I was a n00b, but it took me about an hour to do so. I've beaten a few of Halo 2's levels on legendary so I should be able to beat Halo 1 on it (since it's easier in the first one).
