I don't know why, but whenever this map comes up in a Ranked game I cannot perform well. I enjoy the map when I play well, or when it's a social game.

Does anyone have any tips or strategies to help me improve my game on Guardian?

Mmmm Brains!

Get a BR or Carbine, those two are very very useful weapons on this map. There are a few plasma rifles on the map. These actually can be very helpful because it only takes 2 or 3 shots + melee to kill somebody. The plasma rifle basically has the same power as a mauler.

Then about the power weapons. The person with the sniper will camp at sniper tower 98% of the time, so use that knowledge to your advantage. If you get an elbow spawn, dont rush to sniper tower, but get the gravity hammer first instead and then rush to sniper tower. If you manage to get the shotgun, camp near gold lift, or at sniper tower. Overshield can be very useful when there's somebody sniping at sniper tower and he didnt pick up the overshield yet. Then invisibility is in the open, so everyone will notice it when somebody has it. IMO, invisibility is kinda worthless on this map because the map is so small, that when looking at your radar you can exactly predict where the invisibility guy is.

Also tip for countering a sniper on sniper tower: if you manage to get behind the sniper guy (so bottem sniper tower for example where Overshield is) throw a few grenades. The sniper guy will forced to go to the middle of the map making him a very easy target. And even if he survives, he lost his spot to you.

Guardian seem to be all about stealth, a lot of close-range fights, but you still will need a BR for map control.

Well, for different playlists different stratagies are needed, such as power weapon control being most important than set-up on doubles and vice versa on a larger scale team based game. However i'll hit you up with some general tips from my experience.

1. Learn the callouts properly, and have teammates that also callout regularly. In this map particularly, good team callouts is essential to ANY game, as it gives you map control, and more importantly Sniper control which can dominate the map.

2. Don't rush top middle yourself, as i see people time and again, even people over the level of 45, rush top middle without support when they know people are at green, blu, S2 or S3.. It's simply suicidal, and doesnt work unless it's part of a team push.

3. Dont take on someone with BR/Carbine by yourself on AR starts. Make sure the odds are in your favour, such as you getting the jump on them round a corner or making them low with a grenade. I usually try and get into cover if i find myself in a 1v1 with someone with a BR when i've not got a advantage, as 9/10 you lose the battle.

4. Play customs with slightly better people, as gaining more experience on the map gives more confidence, and confidence that you know what to do always makes your standard of play higher. Knowing the map, the spots people rush alot, grenade traps and good use of weapons can lead to k/d ratio improving on the map.

Those 2 first replies are right. Just find a powerhouse wepan like a shotgun or a hammer or maybe a sniper. Make sure a have a close combat wepan too.

For sniper beware of assinators. They will hit you hard and steal that sniper.

Never battle a shotgun with a hammer for the shotgun will win easily win.

Also make sure you have a couple of grenades with you incase you must throw and die (in other words throw a grenade, die and try to get death from the grave).

Might want to keep a power wepan handy like a bubble shield or regenerator.

Whatever you have try to use your surroundings as part of battle. Here are some ways:

1 When a sniper is trying to snipe you at the elevator area hide behind the wall closet to exit on top. The other team will charge in and you will powerhouse them.

2 The explosives is the oldest one. When there if a person is there through a grenade at it.

3 The elevator trick is one I made myself. When you are getting double teamed go down the hole and back up. The people will follow you down and up. Then as they come up kill one and the other. Best if done with powerhouse wepans.

4 The wall hiding trick is easy and hard. Just hide behind the wall when someone is about to kill you and brake out your powerhouse wepan. The hard part is the enemy. He will follow you or someone else will kill you. Keep that from happening.

5 Grab the overshield and hed for the hammer. Or grab the shotgun and head for the active camo.

P.S any questions and sorry if I spelled wepans wrong?.
