Subject: Seriously, separate the DLC playlist

I am not a DLC slave, I never buy them. But that shouldn't affect my overall online experience. Let it be Halo or any other blockbuster game.

Why don't the DLC maps be in their OWN seperate playlist? Even Activision - the money hungry, put their DLC maps in their own playlist.

I HOPE, they don't do the same with Halo Reach.

Just get Halo waypoint and check out the dlc videos.

Its free and takes up 130mb of space.

I already have waypoint, how is that gonna let me play in the other playlists that require DLC's?

Most of the playlist are for the dlc's like team mythic. Social big team is more towards dlc's cuz of longshore and sandbox and avalanche...regular maps are Valhalla and Sandtrap. most of the social playlists are more towards dlc's cuz they need them for more map variety.

plus if you just buy halo 3 odst you get a second disc free with all the halo 3 dlc's on it.

I used to play all those objective based modes on normal Maps.

Now, all I can play is Lone Wolve and Team/Social Slayer.

Why not stop by my File Share while you're here?

~Long Live Halo 2
Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

Because they cost so little now, and the majority of the population would like to play the maps we paid for.

Why would Bungie cater to the few (those without DLC), rather than the many (with the DLC)? Besides, Legendary Mappack is 160 MSP, Heroic is free, Cold Storage is free, Mythic 1 is 400, and Mythic 2 is still full price I believe.

That's a grand total of $16-$17 for 4 Mappacks. Activisions? All 800 MSP, or higher. If you "can't afford" $17 for 3 mappacks, then you need a job, or need to think about what you're spending.
XBL: $50 for 1 year.
Xbox: $200
LIVE: $85-$100.
New controllers (assuming you're getting the wireless ones): $50
New Headsets (assuming you're getting the cheap M$ ones): $20
Games (new): $60.
(used): Depends on the game, and how old it is. $10-$50.
Adds up, huh? Want a grand total?
$530, with 1 new game, and no other games, and a Live adapter (made by M$ from GameStop).

BUT WAIT! You have more games than just Halo 3! In fact, you have 15. Assuming you payed full price for them, that's another $900, upping the price to $1430! And you won't buy $17 of mappacks.
I don't care what your excuse is, but that's pathetic.

You sir are an example of those DLC slaves/sheep.

You fail to understand my point. But I shall illiterate for you. DLCs are quite a rip off, since developers aren't including them in the initial version of the game and are sold separately. Nevertheless, it's now part of this generation. But, you fail to realise that not everyone want to buy those dlcs and they should NOT affect players that don't want to buy them, regardless of the price.

False.
If you don't want to buy them, that's fine. You just don't get access to certain playlists. But those of us who DO purchase the DLC want the right to actually PLAY the content we paid extra for. Not to mention that the vast majority of the Halo community already has all the DLC, according to Bungie. So you're a minority there mate.

That aside, Halo: Reach is coming out in a few weeks. Due to this, the population is going to plummet for Halo 3. Since it'll plummet, it's going to get harder and harder to find a match. If they separated playlists, people would split into DLC and non-DLC playlists. Thus it would be near impossible to find a match (did you ever go back into Halo 2? Some playlists were pretty much impossible to find a match in). By making one playlist DLC required, they
A. Consolidate all the players into a few select playlists, thereby keeping the ability of the community to find matches in the game.
B. Give the majority of the community, who still has the maps, the ability to play them online.
