Better luck next time buddy.

Sure it must be fun and it doesn't bother me personaly, but I'm thinking about the begginners that just got their copy of Halo 3 and are matched against an apprentice AKA a Five Star General. It doesn't seems fair for me.

Rei!

Where?

:3

Because it's SERIOUS BUSINESS! To play against people that can't aim even if their lives depended on it.

I have to say, this sounds okay.

This will change for Reach though, I will probably stick to one account as I can't restart and stomp on fools.

Reach will almost certainly be 90% social for me as well, I flippin' love Reach SWAT.

Playing in ranked game against lesser skilled players is bad for the game in the long run. Unfortunately thats the way it is and one must deal with it.

What makes it worse is when the higher skilled player trash talks the lower skilled players on their way back up to their proper skill level.

That's the problem, when a second accounter treat the other people that are just starting their Halo 3 carreer like if they were inferior to them. Come on these guys just want to enjoy the game and these accounts ruin their fun. May'be that with less second accounts, there would be more people actually playing the game.

Yo this is Nemesis.

I take pride in making your bad record look even worse than it does already.

Want a 50? Message me on XBL: Cyberbioptics

So many reasons:
1. HLG
2. Fun
3. Rank 'em up and sell 'em on :D

Yeah, that sounds about right. That's what my friends who were Generals did and they made some money off of it.

  • 08.25.2010 11:56 AM PDT

I play the overwhelming majority of my games on my main.

I have a second account with a 50 in Squad so that I don't have to pick teams on my main, becuase I have having no control over my teammates, but sometimes I just feel like playing that playlist.

Other than that, I don't really make 2nd accounts because I'd prefer to play good people, not bad people.

I've been running against these a lot these time. I know some people are stuck at their rank and they don't want to derank so they make new accounts to play vs lower rank player.

If you think that's the reason most people create new accounts, you need to get educated.

Posted by: FireChrist19
can't they just play on their own account?

They ARE playing on their own account. They own it just like all of their previous ones.

Playing at the higher levels is boooooorrrriiiing.

There are about 3 (4 max) types/styles of player in the higher ranks. Everyone knows the same trick/point/moves ... its no skill - other than pick they player style.

A new account gets you playing with the noobs again - can never pick what they will do/try. And then the challenge of other second accounters - but you never know who it will be, and they dont play the "by-the-book-style" as they expect you to be a noob.

Way more fun ... dont know how you can keep on the one account.
One run through basic training and you will rmember the fun.

Only bad players don't have fun at higher ranks.

You're saying playing higher level, good players doesn't take as much skill as lower level, bad players? Wow, that's a load of bull.

Beating up on low level players gets boring fast, I prefer a challenge.

  • 08.25.2010 12:24 PM PDT

It's because the ranking system is broken. You can get a 50 allot faster if you start a new account. Bungie made the mistake of holding too much of your history against you.

  • 08.25.2010 12:48 PM PDT

1:They cant get a 50 so they make a new account to start over with a head start.
2:They want to start fresh.
3:They think it will make them better.
4:They want to vs noobs but now that everyone does that...they end up gettn matched up with 50s in MLG

The advantages are all personal, there's nothing really worthwhile in it, since it costs money, and Halo stats really don't mean much (says the colonel, I get it, save it.)

If people want to use second (or third...) accounts, that's not a problem, play enough and the ranking system will figure them out eventually.

Personally, I started a second account because I got a free month as an apology from Microsoft for my RROD. 76 achievements later (I didn't get Post Mortem in time) I retired the account and went back to my main one.

It's just a game, some people are willing to pay more money to get what they see as more enjoyment out of it... isn't that the whole idea?

EDIT: jakecrane91, that's not Bungie's fault, that's just statistics. The math is not broken.

You 'can' have fun, but gets boring cause everyone basically plays the same ... different levels == different styles.
Same reason I let friends play on my account.
Or do you believe that a rank 10, 30 & 50 all play the same?!?

You're saying playing higher level, good players doesn't take as much skill as lower level, bad players? Wow, that's a load of bull.
Nope - learn to read. Talking about a fun non-boring game.
Higher ranks tend to play a fixed game style per map. Pick the map, know the game play. Like a race car driver on a given track - they will know the map and drive the same lines each lap.
Playing lower levels mixes it up - there is no fixed style.

Beating up on low level players gets boring fast, I prefer a challenge. So you get to 50 and then what?!? How do you find more challenge in that.
Its like those player who get to a high rank in H3 and dont want to play any other game cause theyre scared they will look bad.

Active camo will work as long I can fart...... DAMN!!!! Now thats a long time!

I don't see the point in creating 2nd, 3rd and so on acounts. I just see it as a waste of time.

I also think it's a unfair advantage when a newcomer gets his fresh copy of Halo 3, Play online and then get owned by a "recruit" aka level 50 General.

Corn, Oil, and Wine... We need more wine...

To make an account look decent, even though the player can be complete rubbish.

  • 08.26.2010 5:37 AM PDT

Cause people are sad like that

Also, what zash said

  • 08.28.2010 7:27 PM PDT

  • 08.28.2010 7:30 PM PDT
