Hi to all of the community. I'm neither good or bad at Halo 3 swat, however it seems that the game mode Team Swat has lost it's magic. The entire swat community seems to be filled with these "boosters" and ultimately it takes the fun out of the game for others. I have came across gamertags on more than one occasion which actually refer to boosting, from which i gather these 'Generals' are simply bragging that they can abuse the system. I find this incredibly frustrating and I hope Bungie have realised this problem for Reach as I am extremely excited for 'Team Swat' in Reach. :D

Also the only thing to fear is fear itself and spiders

2 things i have to say

1 it is swat... always bring in 1 friend and search in two's swat can be determined by a single player because it is very easy to get kills and what not

2. as far to my knowledge in halo reach there is a very limited ranking system what i mean is rank what determine much and as as well as swat in reach may be hard to come by because there is a slayer playlist in which you must vote to play swat

  • 08.25.2010 1:45 AM PDT

but they may still have a play list because in the beta they just had a lil bit of everything in the slayer playlist but i mean when h3 came out swat didnt come out right then did it i cant remember

cheers for the input ^^, also have to take into consideration that you get commendations for losing in Reach, however from what I can tell from the Beta; the difference in commendations you receive for winning to that of what you get from losing is quite large. :(

So I'm hoping the boosters give up or spend there time on black ops or something. They've already infected mw2, just leave Halo alone it's a good, innocent game.

There will most definately be a Team Swat playlist if they have the game mode available and it was one of the most popular in Halo 3. :)

It will give us a chance to test out the almighty magnums and needler rifles. Woop Woop

I dont like swat. I play halo because i cant just be sprayed from behind by a noob and killed like on CoD. On halo if a noob sprays you and you have a shield the most skilled player will win.

Yea, the last thing you want is are some elites strapped your your back while a grunt massages your nuts unprotected.

Team SWAT is awesome. Like the creator said, its bad players who derank on your team that cause problems and that happens even if you go in pairs. So even if you deserve to go up their selfish behaviour stops you. These people deserve to be banned and capable players are being prevented from ranking up!

You're not good at Halo either.

I haven't played a SWAT deranker. Ever.

I agree with Admiral as it is becoming more and more common, what is the point to putting your own effort into a game for a lazy, impatient player to "boost" their rank? As I said previously, ultimately you will either become frustrated and quit or have to endure another game which you will lose.

This does ruin the game for others and if they begin to derank as a result, they may resort to "boosting" themselves. Eventually Halo 3 will be swarmed with them depleting most enjoyment from Team Swat. I do not wish this upon Reach!

Boosting and deranking are two different things...

I don't derank, I do boost people, though. =]

Lupe there is an entire community of them with Team Swat, if you have played a thorough amount of games recently you may of seen what I'm talking about.

Deranking falls into boosting as it is part of the process.

They're not always lazy, sometimes "boosting" them merely means being a good team mate.

Usually, it ends up helping them get better in the end.

But, honestly, ranking up is fun! I love taking low ranked players and watching them get better while ranking up quickly! It's also fun to play lower ranked players from time to time (standby and aimbots are way to common up high).

i've played enough games to get to that rank searching solo and I've never met a deranker

  • 08.25.2010 7:37 AM PDT

You know what is what, but you don't know what is what, they just strut, what the -blam!-? -Funkagenda

I love SWAT, easily my favorite game type, I encountered one deranker in it the other day, and that's all. Always go in witha party, and if you encounter a deranker, just frustrate them as much as possible, or just win. Lol, who cares about derankers.

  • 08.25.2010 7:40 AM PDT

You know what I refer to when I say "boosting", it is the equivalent to abusing the system Halo 3 provides. And a majority of the time it affects others players and can be extremely frustrating.

I can't stop you, but I will support my point as it is a fair and true point.

There are derankers at the lower levels (jumping accounts w/turbo controllers). The fact that you never ran into one either on your team or as an opponent is a bit surprising, unless all of your lower ranked games were played over a year and a half ago.

  • 08.25.2010 7:45 AM PDT

This is true, infact I played Team Swat both this morning and last night and I encountered many "derankers/boosters".

Infact, I even encountered somebody with the gamertag: "A Swat Booster". That's terrible!
