Looking for advice on good-down-to-earth-fun game for children with no heavy violence, no gore, no blood, or heavy theme,... Adventure game would be good.

I'd still go with Halo. Why are kids treated like such pansies these days? The current generation of gamers turned out (mostly) alright without being told they couldn't play Quake/Doom/UT/whatever was out at the time. I guess it comes down to parenting.

Anyway, where was I? I don't know what platform you were looking at so I can only recommend browsing the game charts and looking for appropriate games. I'm not sure you'll find many here that play the kind of games you're after.

Well ESRB ratings are there for a reason, if its rated M then you can filter that out right away. If its rated T, you can check the rating on the back, it'll list the things that got it the T rating and you can take a good guess what it'll contain just from that.

Its just a little list of reasons like mischief, violence, mild violence, and mild language. Things like that.

Try and track down some of the old LucasArts point and click adventure games like Day of the Tentacle, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Monkey Island, Full Throttle etc.

I played them when I was a kid and they were a great way to start.
