Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphors have two parts : form and interpretation; of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom being the briocoleus, the mason.

Yep, you need to make sure you run it before you try to get the flair, because it has to show on your gamercard.

I have Halo Combat Evolved on my Xbox. I play it all the time. Why can't Bungie give us the visual flair for Halo Reach? I know they said there is no way of determining if you have it on Xbox, BUT I know of possible ways they could tell...

List:
-Halo CE game saves

-Halo CE on the recent played games list

-Halo CE in Game Library

-Halo CE on your achievement list

-If someones friend is playing Halo CE while signed in on xbl it will say Halo when you check what they are playing.

Why can't Reach have an unlock option, where it says "Insert Halo CE disk now to unlock visual flair" same could be done with Halo 3. Especially when some people don't have online.

Question:

If I upgrade to Bungie Pro do I get to keep the DMR name plate when my bungie pro expires?

Same answer I gave in the topic this complaint started (5th post) Here

Q: What about Halo 1 Xbox via Games on Demand?
A: Bungie is no longer part of Microsoft and we simply do not have access to the purchase data for this game, nor does it register online. It shows up in the console's recent games list, but not your gamercard for us to see. It's out of our hands.

There you go

Sorry if that sounded mean. :{
Also a real disk for Xbox of the game was never meant to be used for things online from what I understand so that is useless also.

Q: What's the format for entering keys?
A: Caps doesn't matter. Dashes do. Follow the example on the page.

I used Caps and didn't use Dashes.
I did the exact oppossite of what you said and it still said "Success, you're all set. Return here after you play Halo: Reach to select one of your unlocked nameplates."

Success is Success, try it with dashes if you want it won't change anything.

This is what I will now be using for this problem. :)

Q: There is no Marathon submit button! :(
A: Internet Explorer has a Compatibility View with must be turned off to see the submit button! When this Icon (next to the refresh button) is on a blue backround you will see no submit button, so toggle it to a clear backround to solve the issue.
If this has no effect use a different browser.

Bring Back Rocket Race!!!

Why don't Halo 2 PC owners get Halo: Reach visual flair? At first I thought it was because Bungie would have no way to verify it, but when you take a look at their method for verifying if you have Marathon Durandal, they should be able to verify that you have Halo 2 Vista. To verify Marathon Durandal, Bungie.net checks your gamertag's last 5 played games. And if you have a Marathon icon as one of that last 5 played games, then you qualify for the Marathon visual flair in Halo: Reach.

Why can't the same be done for Halo 2 PC (Halo 2 Vista) owners?

What? :/
You are aware that your saying is doesn't make sense for games you play on the PC not to show up on your XBOX 360 gamertag?
You can get Marathon 2 on the Xbox marketplace. Marathon 2 PC players don't get the flair either.(IF it ever was for the PC)
Am I unaware of something?

Actually, because Halo 2 Vista (Halo 2 PC) is a Games For Windows Live game, it will show up on your Xbox Live gamercard. Games For Windows Live and Xbox Live are linked together as the same service. One gamertag for two platforms (technically 4 if you include Zune and Windows Phone 7). Basically the two platforms are cross-platform compatible for friends, messaging, chat, achievements, and for a few select games, multiplayer. Whatever Live enabled game you play on the PC will show up on your 360 gamertag.

Because Halo 2 Vista wasn't made by Bungie, it was ported to Vista by a Team at Microsoft.

And I believe it doesn't show up on your Recent Games played. I could be wrong however, I've never played it.

I'm pretty sure Bungie had some kind of help/influence in making Halo 2 PC. There was even a thread/announcement by Bungie talking about their involvement with Halo 2 PC. They definitely were involved.

And what about Halo 1 PC? Bungie didn't make that game either. It was ported by Gearbox. Not Bungie. Bungie's involvement in Halo 1 PC was probably about the same, maybe a little bit more than Halo 2 PC.

As for Halo 2 Vista showing up on on my Recent Games played, read my answer up above. Also, if you want to see it for yourself, take a look at my gamertag:

http://live.xbox.com/en-US/profile/profile.aspx?pp=0&Game rTag=General+Heed

Therefore, there's no reason why Halo 2 Vista owners shouldn't get visual flair for Halo: Reach.

can i get if i downloaded halo:CE from xbox live marketplace?

  • 08.26.2010 11:23 AM PDT

Average player, doing average stuff.

As far as Halo CE flair goes, just have reach check my hard drive for a Halo CE save. Yes, I still play it on occasion. Lots of games do this to unlock content. You want an example, Castle Crashers will check your drive for a Alein Hominid save, then you get an extra chracter in Castle Crashers. I have plenty more. But if a low budget arcade title can do it, so can Bungie.

So don't tell me Bungie can't do it, they simply choose not to do it. That is petty.

Are there any plans on recognizing the players who played Halo 2 on PC?

I would imagine that it could be handled in a similar fashion that the Halo CE PC codes are being done. (Maybe not, idk)

It just seems a little silly that Halo 2 PC isn't being counted.
I understand that people want a Halo 2 flair for the Xbox community to show their dedication, but honestly, it doesn't make sense to exclude a part of the community (PC) based solely on whether or not you played on a certain platform.

Halo 2 is Halo 2 whether it be on Xbox or PC.

Both deserve the same amount of recognition. This is not a post to whine; I was just wondering as to why Bungie decided to exclude this (I admit a minority) community from obtaining the Halo 2 visual flair.

Thanks for the help. I switched to safari and the "submit" button was there. Thanks!

  • 08.26.2010 11:25 AM PDT

General Heed and Havoxfire I guess the reason was that they wanted to reward players who saw Halo 2 go offline and played it at least once.

I see what you are saying that if you have Halo 2 Vista you should get the flair too, but I think they wanted to reward those players, and no amount of dismay will most likely change that this far in the process.
