I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

If I download Marathon from the XBLA at any date in the future, even after the release of Halo: Reach. Will I still get the Marathon Visual Flair?

If anybody can answer this, would be great!

Yes unless they release a new cut-off date. Which will not happen before 9/14 and most likely never happen

Same time again. :0

I reallllly need an answer for this.

When I put in my HALO PC code I get "We've had a problem with your request, please try again." and it's been like that for two days! Help please.

Bring Back Rocket Race!!!

General Heed I guess the reason was that they wanted to reward players who saw Halo 2 go offline and played it at least once.

I see what you are saying that if you have Halo 2 Vista you should get the flair too, but I think they wanted to reward those players, and no amount of dismay will most likely change that this far in the process.

Well, I was there on the last day when Halo 2 Xbox went offline. I know for a fact that I qualify for the Halo 2 visual flair for playing Halo 2 Xbox Online. But I still think there should be some kind of separate flair for Halo 2 Vista owners.

We've been neglected by both Microsoft and Bungie in Halo 2 Vista for so many years. Microsoft almost denies the existence of Halo 2 Vista and Halo Waypoint excludes Halo 2 Vista as well. Plus, hackers run rampant across Halo 2 Vista multiplayer and Microsoft no longer releases patches for Halo 2 Vista anymore.

The least Bungie can do is at least include Halo 2 Vista owners in the list of people who can get visual flair in Halo: Reach.

This only happens with keygens/pirated copies, or so it seems from what my friends have been saying.

I will be rockin the HALO nameplate in Reach.

Same here, it hows up in my games list and has achievements unlocked and all and I even played a bit online, just because I didn't play my console version online is a bit discriminatory, although would I still get the flair if I just put the game disc in and played it single player since multi is out of the question?

I bought my copy a couple years ago. I'm wondering if one of my friends used it, being that my box has disappeared.

EDIT
Yup, I called my friend and he took my box and used the key. At least HE will rock the HALO flair. Meh, the Marathon one looks cooler anyway.

As far as Halo CE flair goes, just have reach check my hard drive for a Halo CE save. Yes, I still play it on occasion. Lots of games do this to unlock content. You want an example, Castle Crashers will check your drive for a Alein Hominid save, then you get an extra chracter in Castle Crashers. I have plenty more. But if a low budget arcade title can do it, so can Bungie.

So don't tell me Bungie can't do it, they simply choose not to do it. That is petty.

I think it has something to do with Turning on and choosing which Nameplate, only available on Bungie.net

Not really. It is simply one of many possible ways to confirm you played a game. This is just a serious lack of effort on Bungie's part. I hope this isn't a sign of how future support of Reach is going to be like.

How about an on-topic reply? Yay!

I bought a used copy of Halo PC on eBay on July 30th. I tried to enter the code when I woke up this morning around 8 a.m. (EDT). It said my code has already been used. I see 3 possibilities:

1. There is a problem with the submission tool on Bungie.net.

2. The previous owner(s) of my copy retained and submitted the key during the 8 hours the tool was active before I tried to submit it.

3. The copy I have is a very good counterfeit.

I sent sawnose a private message before I read through the entire thread and saw that he wants this posted here. Sorry for contributing to your surely overflowing inbox, sir.

Average player, doing average stuff.

If it is truly too hard for Bungie to confirm these things then...

If there is a chance of cutting out a paying customer of Halo CE (XBOX or PC) or Halo 2 (Xbox or PC), then the flair simply needs to activated for everyone.

Written by a known Swedish Guy.

Well, f'k this. It says my code is already used. That's just great.

Here's an answer other than your "They're lazy" reasoning:

Q: What about Halo 1 Xbox via Games on Demand?
A: Bungie is no longer part of Microsoft and we simply do not have access to the purchase data for this game, nor does it register online. It shows up in the console's recent games list, but not your gamercard for us to see. It's out of our hands.

Just putting that out there.
