Subject: Is there something wrong with my TV?

I just moved from an old tube TV to a HDTV. When I was playing Halo 3 I noticed that sometimes when I was looking at a bright area, it would show up white on my screen and then get slightly darker to show detail over the next second or two.

Is this a problem with my TV or is that just the way the game is supposed to look?

And as a completely off-topic question:
Will Halo Reach require a hard-drive to view theater mode and visit file shares?

This, it's just a visual effect they added to campaign. Interesting that it doesn't show on a tube. I actually got my first HDTV almost a week or two before Halo 3's release.

I'm guessing that it did show, but I didn't notice it because I wasn't looking for it. I was (and still am) trying to find good display settings for this TV and I was trying to find dynamic areas to test the setting when I noticed the transitions.

Yay! Haha.

And, I'm pretty sure you need a HDD for Reach.
Or I guess you can format a USB now instead.

I know that formating the USB doesn't work for Halo 3, but it would be great if it works for Reach. I don't want to spend another $100 to get 250GB of space I don't need.

I'm pretty sure it works for Halo 3 too?
But it definitely works for Reach. (:
