im trying to install halo 1 after i uninstalled it. but when i try, it gets almost done, then it says it that the controls.dll file is under use by another program, and it wont install. i went to where the file was, and the controls file was still there after i uninstalled it, and i cant delete it or anything. would someone please help me figure this out?

I'll try to help if you if I can, but you need to explain what you're trying to do more clearly. If I understand this correctly you are trying to install Halo PC on a computer that you had already installed it on but removed it before? With that understanding is the .dll file in the System 32 folder under Windows? If it is don't delete it because that could mess up other areas of Windows.

Something smells fishy...

Maybe you could try reinstalling the operating system. But remember to back up your important files first.

You'll probably be able to delete it with KillBox.

It doesn't look vital to the OS but back it up. If HPC still doesn't install then put the file back. I'm presuming HPC is trying to copy over its own version of the file.
