Halo: CE and Halo 2 are available for the PC. Why has Halo 3 not been ported to it? Was it because Bungie went their different ways with Microsoft at a critical time, or was it an issue with porting the updated Halo engine to the computer?

I think this was it.

There aren't enough people who want it on PC for anyone to hack it on.

Not to mentio that it'd take a ton of RAM to play it in the first place. The first games only had campaign and multiplayer, H3 had Forge, Teater, other awesome stuff.

True 'dat, bra. But seriously, Bungie and Microsoft knew that it would be a waste of money to make servers and games for Halo 3, when the vast majority of people would just by it for their 'Box.

Actually, it would be easy to run(compared to other PC Titles)
It would be complicated to port though mainly because of theater.
Forge would be (relatively) easy to port, not to mention that they would get even more powerful tools.

Granted, but then again maps and features are loaded into the RAM only when they are called. So if I was to go to Multi-player, it would only load, say, Sandtrap when I selected it from the list. Plus, it could always be relegated to LAN, so at least you could play it at LAN parties.

If it runs on the Xbox's relatively crappy hardware, it'll definitely run on my MacBook Pro. It may not have three cores at 3.2Ghz, but it has 8 times the memory, and is better too.

Sadly, it hasn't. But it would be awesome if they did port it.
