Darth Vader sleeps with a Teddywookie. Pass it on.

A truly wise man never plays leapfrog with a unicorn.

Is there a way to get the map packs (Bonus, Killtacular, Maptacular and Blastacular) now that Xbox Live no longer supports Halo 2?

I had them on my old Xbox 360, got one of those new "slim" consoles, transfered all content, and found that these map packs don't work. They're on my hard drive; I'm just unable to use them. If I had to guess, this is because of a licensing issue (they're "registered" to my old console).

I've been unable to find any Microsoft/Bungie-issued work-around for this. I haven't yet tried 1-800-4MYXBOX, figuring that they'd give me a standard "we no longer support that title" kind of answer; that's what I got from the XboxSupport Twitter account.

Has anyone else run across this?

The only way there is to get the maps now is to get your hands on a copy of the map pack disc. Amazon.com seems to be your best bet at finding it. You will get all the maps, except for desolation and tombstone.

Halo 2 for Life!

This thread has been done many times. Basically you can get a friend who has the map and transfer them or you guy the disk the guy above me talks about. Or you can talk to xbox live, say you bought the maps over xbox live and if you complain enough about loseing somthing you purchased, they probably will send you a copy of said disk for free (doesn't always work but i'm sure if you complain enough they give you it). I was pretty pissed when they took away all those maps that I purchased, I'm sure they'ed not want unhappy customers (or at least someone would think that).

Basically, yes they stole your money by removing content purchased online and I would think they would reinburse you with a copy of said disk (at least I think so).

Explain how you "transfer them" please.

A major issue I have is you can't transfer original Xbox content between 360 consoles. Mainly because of the way the data system works or something stupid.

Forza 2 has the exact same issue, where basically you transfer the content and it claims that it's Corrupted/Modified data and proceeds to delete it.

While I'm honestly not to bothered about Original Xbox multiplayer being disabled; what does bother me is while a server is maintained for game updates (first time you sign-in it will allow you to download the 1.5 update for example) any further access attempts are met with being unable to connect.

Personally I don't understand why they haven't simply create a channel for Original Xbox DLC with a supporting dashboard update. Also with no longer being able to use the Xbox Live component in the original xbox titles, why it still doesn't support 360 sign-in to utilise party chat and such.

Don't get me wrong I'm glad they haven't gone the Sony route of "let's disable all our old titles" but seems a little stupid to disable every online feature not just the multiplayer.
