Subject: After all these years bungie still fails...

So just played a game of double snipers and once again thansk to the great job bungie did with halo 3, the host wins again. Shot a guy four times, saw the blood, but nope still doesnt die. I shot guy first then he hits me in the arm but it counts as a head shot. Im behind a wall where there is no possibility of being hit but some how I get head shotted. Im so glad halo reach is coming out cause this game has once again shown me why I stopped playing after I reached 50.

Could not agree more.

King of Kings

Who cares game lags

Angel

Im not saying that bungie can do anything about the lag but when your playing a ranked match and you have prefer good connection on and you still get this stuff happening it get really frustrating. Also lag effects everything so ya people kinda hate it when your trying to just have fun or get a higher rank and you lose do to someone who jumps across the screen without moving.

You do know having host in Halo 3 has more cons than pros, right?

Yet thousands of people play everyday

Its a basic Halo fact, in MLG competitions host is rotated between teams because it is considered to be a disadvantage.

MLG competitions play on LAN. There used to be a disadvantage to being host on LAN, but that on Halo 2 if I remember right.

Ignore the above fanboy's, you have a somewhat valid point. The reason I say this is because there is not a single ISP in the entire world that can help you against shot registration failure.

However, with the latest 'network tests' in the beta and the return of hitscan, plus a larger audience; the chances of getting more consistant, local games will increase greatly for Halo Reach.

+1
Funny how even the game developer makes a fuss over improving the netcode ... even doing specific beta tests ... and yet the fanboi's defence is "its your connection".

I was a victim of a series of accidents, as are we all.

Every game lags you can't help it.Nobody can. If you don't like it don't play it I've got "Bevan the King's" Side.

It still exists in Halo 3. The host hitbox is bigger or something like that.

Endgame, my post wasnt directed at you, sorry for the confusion. It was a general warning to the blubbering wanna be geniuses who would come on here and say that I am wrong about hitscan.

however, I never said there was NO host advantage in halo 3, I merely said that, in the grand scheme of things, it is negligible at best and often doesnt affect the outcome of the game. GOW is to me, the standard at which host advantage is measured against. THAT is a bs host advantage. The one in Halo, not so much.

Go read all of my posts, yes I said non-existant but I was speaking more in regards to how apparent it is and its ability to change a match. Note my comments in the rest of that post, and all my subsequent post. It was merely a poor choice of word usage on my part to describe what I meant. I was not trying to back track, my statement was simply misinterpreted.

Try living in Australia playing on a U.K host and come back saying that host advantage is non existent in halo. When your playing high ranks, it becomes a joke.

They made the game....
Not possible to make it fail proof unless they lay new fiber optic cable for every1 in this world and give perfect internet to everyone...
Sometimes.... we can't have what we want.

A competitive players main goal is to win.
A casuals main goal is to have fun regardless of whether that results in a win or loss.
It has nothing to do with individual skill or knowledge, it has to do with the reason you play.

You lost a match in Halo.
You saw the trouble to come cry about it to forums and blame bungie.
Hmm..

I say you need a hobby.
