Hey guys, it's me... again...

I just got Halo PC from a friend and now I played it like 1 hour (all sound and graphic stuff pumped up to the limits) and now, after I started the game the second time, some sounds where just missing (not played). So I took a look at the audio settings and now "Hardware acceleration" and "Environmantal Sound" are greyed out... as far as I know, my sound card supports this stuff (tested with Half Life 2)...

Does anybody know, how to make 'em "not grey", selectable?
I want to play Halo PC with some nice sound, not some "plastic-like" sound...

Hmmm that is odd, have you tried to run it under Admin?

I am the admin... It's my PC...

I'm the admin on my pc too, but once in a while it still will say I'm not when I run older programs. Might as well give it a try.

Are you using Windows 7? If you're not, just make sure you've installed the correct driver for your sound card.

If you are using Windows 7 or Windows Vista then you could try running Halo CE PC in compatibility mode.

Also you could try uninstalling and reinstalling Halo.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Windows Vista introduced a new driver model that prevents hardware acceleration from working. If you have a Creative Labs sound card you might be able to use ALchemy, otherwise you are forced to use software mixing.

I'm still using XP... thats the strange thing...
And my drivers are ok, too

Wait a sec... it's working again...
I'll continue this if it doesn't work tomorrow...
