PPRIORITY LVL:FLASH 1
TO: Captain Alexander Thorman, Duetchland(Service Number:68915914362-49142AT)
FROM:ONI SECTION 3, Anti-Piracy Division Commander CODENAME:TRAWLER
SUBJECT: New Intel Regarding Innsurection and [CLASSIFIED]BGX Directive
//start file:
Cpt. Thorman,
Yes, I figured it might be a bad time to place a note, but I got some people nagging me ot get it done, and get it done fast. Prowler Corps. is a bit nervous about losing a ship that was purportedly destroyed in the action at Reach.
I'm not privy to a whole lot of details, but to the best of my knowledge; the Marauder, an old ONI prowler, was lost at the battle of Reach, when her escort ship, UNSC Euphrates was destroyed along with most of the fleet.
Other than that, I can't get much detail out of it. Colonel Ackerson ordered that Reach be a black hole: no one goes there, no one searches it, and no data is released about it. EVER. But with Ackerson K.I.A., that order has been recinded to a degree and we can find out things that we had-until this point-not known about what happened.
Apparently, the Marauder was NOT lost at Reach and the ship had gone dark after the Covenant disregarded it-the ship- as nothing. The prowlers are designed to hide, and hide it did. We didn't find it until my divison found some chatter between Inssurectionist bases about 'a valuable to place as compensation.'
This bit came from Governor Jiles, a well known Inssurectionist, and we based this off of logs gleaned from the Gettysburg which have now reached my division. Apparently, Jiles had lost a ship that was 'stolen' from him, and was never given compensation for it.
We-Section 3-know where Jiles is based off of old records of Operation:TREBUCHET, a pre-war SPARTAN-II mission log, and Gettysburg's data logs. And NO, I did not pilfer this data; SECTION 3 gave me permission to disclose this data, despite our reputation.
There's an attatched breifing for your SPARTAN-IIs, but whatever's on it is not privy to your eyes. Forward the briefing to them, and let them do their job. But you can give them this message: get this done fast, or they'll be in up to their necks as well.
