You ask my opion i think bungie is -blam!- to raise pep sprit by making halo almost global for all systems then say no were going to make it just for xbox what i think bungie quote on this is "ha ha you guy go and buy the guy computer in a fansey box and get of your pc even though it is one of the best gameing systems out there and dont go for the ps2 popularity over the xbox. or nintendo rep in the past. and you know what were not going to release it on the dreamcast cause it going to dye and no one likes segas (LIERS) lets just let the sega die."

Before we condone or condemn Bungie's actions as of late, we must understand Bungie's history and their past decisions about multi-platform games. Bungie has been accused of betraying and ignoring fans with specific tastes in platforms since Marathon 2 came out for the PC. In most cases, it is merely the rantings of over zealous jealousy of platform specific fans.

Originally, Bungie designed games only for the Mac. When Marathon was ported to the PC, loyal Mac enthusiasts were in an uproar. Their dismay continued as Bungie released Myth: TFL and Myth 2: Soulblighter for Mac and PC simultaneously. Oni, Bungie's next game, was available for PC, Mac, and Playstation. I'm sure many of you are aware that Halo started as a PC game and debuted at Mac World 1999. Throughout their career, the guys at Bungie have proven time and time again that they care about bringing their games to as many people as possible despite the platform wars of their fan base.

However, this was while Bungie was an independant company. Now that they are a branch of Microsoft, they probably don't have as much publishing freedom as they once had. While Bungie has said that they would only be bought by a company who would allow them to remain distinctly Bungie, Mircrosoft still owns Bungie. Seeing as Mircosoft already has a large market share in most things PC, and that Bungie is the main reason they are competing with Sony in the console war, it is understandable that Microsoft would keep Bungie where it is best for their interests, not Bungie's. While Microsoft may not dictate day to day procedings or the exact details of all Bungie's games, I can easily see where Microsoft would have the power to tell Bungie which systems they can and can't develop games for.

Of course, this opinion is merely that and requires the disclaimer naming it as such, but it is how I imagine the Bungie/Microsoft relationship may work. Whether you want to blame Microsoft or Bungie for a lack of support for other platforms, Bungie, in being bought by Microsoft, is in a different position than they were as an independant developer.

Halo was origanally made for the Mac then they wanted a console based game so they made it for the ps2 (this version was cancelled and can be seen on the site www.ign.com)
the ps2 version was cancelled because microsoft buy 20% of the company or something put it simple microsoft was mad because it wasn't on there system so they used there money to solve it. i think microsoft is guy because of this so im moving to mac and linux.
