Recently there seems to be alot of people getting host banned,

I dont know wether there is a bug or something but from my experience it has never been this apparent.

Me and a couple of my friends have been host banned, I do get host about 50% of the games I'm in but surely that shouldn't mean I should get host banned. I have never bridged or standbyed so why should I get banned.

I wouldn't be annoyed if the majority of players had a good enough connection to support a decent game, but it seems that because I'm not getting host, the player that does makes the game unplayable.

The same thing has happened to a friend of mine who is on 50mbs up and down, why should we be punnished for being chosen by the game that we are the most suitable to host, its not fair, its uneficient and just plain stupid that this would happen.

This is NOT a complaint for all that wish to flame this thread, all I want to do is to bring this problem to the attention of others.

Thank You

Host ban is based on your console getting too many poor connection reports.

End of each MM game every player reports back the quality of connections in the game. This report also forms the basis of your host record - the factor which determines who gets host in the first place.

Problem is when you host a game with distant connection those players report you as a poor host. Doesnt matter if you have a 10/20/50/100 up/down ... the speed degrades over each hop.
End result - your host record goes down.
Too many bad reports and you get host ban.
