What would you like to see in Halo maps?
In our desperate attempt to give Halo CE some serious CPR as it stands weary on it's last legs, we've been planning, developing and distributing lots and lots of maps. We've also been encouraging all Halo mappers out there to do the same. Here's your chance to voice out on what you want to see in future Halo maps!
Do you lose sleep at night because you dream of fragging your buddies in a dense forest? Do your grades suffer in school because you fantasize about placing a sticky grenade on your chemistry teacher's forehead in a crowded urban setting? Do your loved ones laugh at you because you brag about capturing a flag while you were being chased by the entire blue team through the sandy mountainous terrain of an ancient Forerunner ring-world? Well my fine feathered friends, today's your lucky day!
Take a ride over to our outlandishly hospitible forums (www.epg.epgservers.net) and start making some threads talking about your ideas for maps. Tell us what it is you wish you could do in Halo. Let us know your depiction of the ideal killing environment. If you have an awesome idea for a map, make a post about it! The grand people of the EPG Halo forums always love to constructively criticize/comment/compliment on people ideas for levels. If you're skilled enough, and we like your ideas, we'll PM you and let you know that we're going to try and put your ideas into play, and you'll get complete full credit for them.
No, we're not running out of ideas, but CE is running out of days. Every day there are less and less and less players. The problem is the fact that not enough people know what Halo CE is! The God's honest truth:
I was playing a game of CTF on Timberland on Halo PC (because there's more full servers) and someone said "I wish they'd make Halo 2 for the PC". I began to enlighten him about Halo 2 CE and before I knew it, I had caught the attention of nearly the entire server. Everywhere I looked, there were people standing still and the white chat text was going crazy with questions. I gave them the URL to this website, and after a few more questions answered, they had all began leaving the server to go check out the website. Some of them ALT+TAB'd out and came back telling me how impressed they were, and thet it's currently downloading. What was a full 16 man game, had become a 4-5 man game because everyone had left to go get Halo CE.
THAT'S RECRUITMENT FELLAS!!!!
Obviously, not one person in that server had known about Halo CE. Now they all know about it. This is what needs to be done. Tell people about it. Tell them to check out our site, or any other Halo CE site like Halomaps.org or Haloimpulse.com or even Halomods.com. Physically tell people about it, and if they bite, insist they tell all their friends. Halo CE is way, way, way too good of a game to just DIE like this. It never got the fair chance it deserved. It was never advertized or glorified enough by the official sources like Gearbox or Bungie. Yes, I know everything boils down to money, but regardless, it's up to us. All we can do is go the proverbial door to door. If you're reading this, you obviously have some kind of a passion for Halo CE, not nessessarily just Halo 2 CE. You know that you want Halo CE to have thousands and thousands of players like Halo PC does. Well, what are you going to do about it? You are one of the 100-150 people who actively play Halo CE. Alternatively, you are one of the only 100-150 people who can do something!! If 150 Halo CE'ers each told one full Halo PC server about Halo CE as I did today, that would be 2400 more people who now know about Halo CE! A good portion of those people will actually go get Halo CE, try it, play it and like it!
Let's get cracking people. This is not a drill.
