Hello Bungie,

In the past I purchased your Blastacular Map Pack for my original XBOX. However, I was never able to get the maps on my XBOX 360. I enjoyed playing the maps in the past and would like a chance to play them again. I would appreciate it if you could make the maps available for download via XBOX Live. If it is not too much trouble, it would be nice if you could add UPLIFT and DISTRICT as well.

Thank you,

Longtime fan

I fairly sure that if his IQ was 4, he'd be a vegetable. Or a rock with aspirations of being a vegetable.

Sounds good to me.

Halo 2 for Life!

If they had the guts to stand up to their overlord microsoft over H2 being removed we wouldn't be talking about this. Their was a solution to been had, they didn't even try to prevent it from my understanding and it's sad they let it go just as fast as microsoft let it go (sad over and over again).

I hope there is a way for them to bring back the maps, as I really enjoyed (and many others) playing them.

"I'll tell you right now, if you ever see someone called ll wa1do ll... leave the game immediately. My friend knows him, I've been in his party a few times, do not mess with this guy. From what I've heard, he's the real deal. I also heard someone made a guy named Wa2do (similar to his name) and then he hacked that guy and boosted off his level." -From Minou on Bungie.net

I have an even better idea, Bungie should release Halo 2 again and call it Reach.

I don't think its really up to Bungie, its more up to Microsoft to decide if they wanna do that. Yes it is Bungie content, but Microsoft controlled the servers for the game, and its content. When they shut down the servers they killed not only this game, but everything that was for the original xbox.

RIP Halo 2: November 9, 2004-May 10, 2010
I was the 2nd to last person to get kicked off Halo 2, see the thread Here

I wish Bungie would put all the DLC maps on the marketplace. Maybe they will some day, but I doubt it. :/

And the saddest part about it all? They haven't even discussed whatever H2 was going to be 'replaced' with.

"Hey guys, we know you love Halo 2, but we have to shut it down to make way for some AWESOME changes and additions to Xbox Live!!"

I'm not aware of the process of how things are put on to XBOX Live, but I would think that if Bungie wanted to bring back the maps-- they very well could.

I'm also not sure if it would be difficult to add Halo or Halo 2 to the current XBOX Live, but I would imagine that if Bungie wanted to do it-- they could.

Though, the main thing I want is those old maps, because one day I will play through the old Halos. The two great Blastacular maps would add great variety and fun to any LAN party. Hopefully Bungie is someway able to make these old fan favorites available again.

Don't forget, they have yet to do the update they do every fall. I am willing to bet these changes come with that update, though I have yet to see a specific date for said update.

I hope that these changes are worth paying the extra $10, for an XBL membership.

That would be great if they were able to bring back the maps this fall in the update.

You're asking the wrong company, and it's not going to happen.

Don't forget the biggest price of all, Halo 2's life was taken for this.

No update will be worthy of sacrificing Halo 2 for.

Bungie doesn't control the marketplace, Microsoft does, and I'm pretty sure Bungie isn't going to touch Halo 2 again.

Lewis Belding: I got 18 people in my hotel! Where are they gonna go?
The Stranger: Out.

I can remember them saying that the changes to LIVE would include takingthe 100 player cap off your friend list (yet to happen) and also that some of the new stuff would involve optimizing stuff for Kinect, and the new Xbox, etc....

Though this may be true, I'm sure Bungie still has a large influence on whether or not Microsoft brings Halo 2 content to the market place.

Doubtful. Bungie is probably focusing all of their resources on maintaining Reach and developing their new IP. I'm sure they felt bad about Halo 2 getting taken down, but they've made their peace with it and moved on to better things. They're probably weary of dealing with Microsoft anyway. Don't forget that they've gotten pushed around by Microsoft in the past. (Prime example: ODST for $60.)

The reality of the situation is that Bungie is a third-party developer and Microsoft is a AAA publisher.

Halo 2 for Life!

Someone said no?

  • 10.08.2010 2:30 AM PDT

This is the average H2 Fanboy.
Xfire: JacobGRocks.
50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

They will probably be unavaliable to everyone except:
1. Modders.
2. People who buy a used xbox from a local game store with a inactive live account on it.

Buying a used 360 hdd won't work, as the dlc is signed to the console, and the only way to resign it...is to use mods.

halo 2 still the best game in the series. long live halo 2.

Dam, I miss the old days playing halo 2 with my old brothers in arms. Thank you my old friends for giving me this account, I shall continue our legacy.

Some of us paid money to buy tombstone and desolation when it came out. They really should make it available for us to download again. We paid for it, so we should be able to still download it. Besides its the only 2 maps that were not included in the halo 2 multi-player expansion disc.
