Bandits? The Spirit drop ship, or the Type 25 Troop Carrier, has always been know as the Spirit dropship, including in Halo: Combat Evolved.
And yes it's in Halo: Reach

I can't think of a single instance of it being called a "spirit" in the first game. In fact, IIRC, it went more or less unnamed for a LONG time.

In the game itself, though, he's right. It's never referred to by name. "Bandit" is the generic term for an enemy aircraft, and otherwise they're just called dropships. Which makes me think that "Spirit" was retconned, but it's insignificant so I don't care.
