I have some questions:

1)If the Master Chief killed the Prophet of Regret, how come Regret is alive once he's been assimilated into the Flood?

2)Was making Halo 2 part of Bungie's plan before Halo: Combat Evolved was even released or was Halo: Combat Evolved released originally as a single standalone game?

3)This question is kind of for fun. Which monitor character did you like better from the Halo trilogy, 343 Guilty Spark or 2401 Penitent Tangent, and why?

Regret's body was later assimilated and reanimated by the newly formed Gravemind when his body was flung into the depths of the large lake surrounding the Temple and later discovered by the Gravemind.

2)Originally, a trilogy wasn't planned. However, with the success of Halo: Combat Evolved, they decided to make a sequel. There were many ideas floating around while developing the first Halo, but due to time constraints, they had to be cut.

This is actually a pretty interesting article where some Bungie staff talks about Halo 2 development.

3)343 Guilty Spark.

So does that mean Regret was resurrected?

In a way, yes, Regret was resurrected by the Gravemind.

1.He technically was kind of heeled by the gravemind kind of like MC was after he fell into the water.

2.I'm pretty sure they would just leave it at that. But then they decided to make a second and third and fourth and fifth games.

3.343 guilty spark.

He wasn't healed, just assimilated into the flood. The Gravemind inherits all the memories and knowledge of every sentient being it consumes.
As for Regret, the Gravemind kept him conscious and was using him and 2401 Penitent Tangent to show the Arbiter that the Great Journey was simply a last resort containment option that would effectively end all life in the galaxy.
