Subject: Boot.Boot! BOOT!

Seriously...I dont care that you can noscope super pro. Im here to play a decent game and not get spawn camped,n00b'd to the max or lagged out. Please just play the game in an decent fashion and STFU

Is it me or are players and guests getting ruthless with the boot button? If somebody is betrayed, there is a 99.99% chance they will be booted.

Fake statistics aside, today my guest and I got booted from 5 games in a row. Not because I betray for fun, but because they got in my way.

A little story that happened today:
I was on the pit, firing at the other tower because there was an enemy sniper. I was strafing side to side so it was harder to kill me. While doing this an elite on the enemy team was running up the tower so I decided to take a shot. Suddenly a guest on my team ran infront of me as I fired and I killed him. A few seconds later I was in the lobby being told that friendly fire was not acceptable.

People are willing to boot without giving it a moments hesitation for an accident.

Onyx pre-season! That's all that matters.

Current United States Marine Corps Poolee/Recruit

I agree. I have been kicked for a single betrayal after MONTHS of no betrayals. And I don't betray on purpose ever (except in Custom Games)! I just kick everyone now a day if I get killed by them if there isn't any evidence of an accident. If I'm the only person there and they mistook me for an enemy then they are ignorant and as such are booted.

I boot people the second I get the chance. Just the other day I booted two of my teammates who betrayed me.

fear me, for i am pro sauce

its stupid when you get booted if it is a complete accident like when you throw a grenade at the other team and your team mate gets hit or has no sheild and they die because of your grenade.

  • 09.05.2010 1:16 PM PDT

Hates to love and loves to hate.

Clear your cache and your entire betrayal history is wiped clean.

  • 09.05.2010 1:18 PM PDT

Better luck next time buddy.

It's sad because we can't do anything about it. I think it'll be the same in Reach because people don't think before acting.

  • 09.05.2010 1:19 PM PDT

CoE. If you don't know what that means...

I've seen people playing online who just want to go on and spawn when they are killed; so when some weird screen pops up (the window asking if you'd like to boot someone) they just mash X for it to disappear.

Its a shame that players cannot get along with each other. Always watching thier back to see if a betrayal is upon them

  • 09.05.2010 1:25 PM PDT

I bet you thought there was something interesting in here

the problem is not that you get booted after a single betrayal...

i cant tell you how many times ive been in a game where there was some dude purposly splattering us and yet it wouldnt give me the option to boot. but you know that as soon as i kill him i get booted.

That's why you don't kill him.

When they jump infront of my rocket or sniper or walk onto my grenade, its not my fault because im busy killing enemies rather then worrying where the team are

Forever Forgers

Live and let live.

I dont understand this.

I can go about accidentally betraying as many as 3 people and still not get booted, while i always get option to boot on first betrayal. Op, and everyone else who says their experience is different, you must be betraying more often than "almost never".

I dont betray on purpous. Me and my guest betrayed 5 people in 5 mathes by accident. Snipers, rockets and grenades.

I enjoy playing all the halo games and have beat them all on Lengendary, whoo hoo. :P

I boot as soon as I can.

Live Long and Consume Banana Oil, ya' Spoony Bards!

I usually forgive the player the first time I'm given the option, but if it happens more than that, and if they are actively gunning for me, I will boot them, but only if I'm positive that it was an intetnional betrayal.

Rarity FTW

It happens. Usually I give people the benefit of the doubt. Unless of course they start crouching up and down over your corpse. Then I wait until the last 5 seconds of the game, THEN boot them.

  • 09.05.2010 3:18 PM PDT

exactly in halo reach beta (not halo 3) i had a nade launcher fireng at a elite and my teammate jumps next the grenade and dies then he booted me

Corpse humping? Geez, that happened to me twice when I was betrayed today. I didn't boot them because I wasn't given the option, sadly. It's the corpse humping that really makes me want to boot people who betray me, and that's often the best indicator of whether it was intentional or not.

If that happens, just find a Power Drain or Plasma Pistol. Proceed to annoy traitor.

Hello. How are you? I am well. Congratulations, you just wasted 3 seconds reading this line.

Personally, I think that the boot option should only appear on the second betrayal. I never betray on purpose, unless its with my friends or in action sack, since its for no exp anyway. Once I was in a game of avalanche heavy, and it was one minute left and we were dominating, by at least 30 kills. I was in a scorpion, tearing it up, and a stupid person decides to jump in the way of my fire and boot me. I mean really, if it's one minute left and your dominating, no one on your team would betray on purpose, or you would be more even in score or they would have been booted. (Giant wall of text ftw =D)

If you can betray 3 ppl then either u are a total -blam!- noob or u just dont care about your team mates. Usually it only takes a person to be betrayed once by u and once by another person. If ur the second person to betray them then they will have option to boot u. However if you have benn xp banned for 2 weeks then u will be booted after 1st betrayel.

Hold your ground, hold your ground! Sons of Gondor, of Rohan, my brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of woes and shattered shields, when the age of men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!

You know what I hate? Some kid betrays you five times, and you don't get the option. Then when you kill him once, he boots you. Bungie better fix the system.

  • 09.05.2010 5:00 PM PDT

I know. I once had stupid players who weren't moving and the other team kept killing them so I betrayed them to wake them up. Didn't work so I did it again and a few minutes later I got hit into the lobby and I was jumping at the time so I couldn't read what the heck it said.

  • 09.05.2010 6:26 PM PDT

You miss 100% of the shots you never take. Best to take it then, eh?

I usually forgive a person for betraying me as in the middle of a huge shoot out things happen and it's best for your team to have ALL of its players as to not give the other team(s) the advantage. But there are times when I get betrayed and I am simply merciless with the boot button(like when you get team killed because your teammate just HAD to have the sniper you were holding or he just ruins your killstreak on purpose just because he knows you haven't died yet).
