Subject: Boot.Boot! BOOT!

"From Myth : The Fallen Lords to Halo : Reach ; thanks Bungie for such an amazing gaming life !"

Frankly, I usualy boot when I get the chance. Quitters are already such a pain in the "where-the-sun-never-shines", at least, I can do something about betrayers.

For every unintentionnal betrayers, I'm pretty sure a hundred are indeed intentionnal. Just be careful where you shoot.

I think Bungie needs to fine tune the booting system, especially with the upgraded betrayal banning system coming into play. My suggestion: If you accidently betray twice in a single game (which would currently earn you a boot by most optimatch players), you continue playing but recieve no experience at the end (or no credits in Reach). Anything past two accidental betrayals means that you should find a game that better fits your "abilities".

Halo 3 is my favorite video game, at least until reach is out.

Something similar happened to me in Team Swat.. i got the team 30 kills and got booted because some dumbass stepped in front of me. He was SO quick to boot me, i didnt even have time to realize i betrayed him.

"You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space." -Johnny Cash

I get sick and tired of this. Most people boot people whenever they get the chance. They never care if you did it on accident or not. But all you can do is move on. There is nothing that can really be done.

98% of teenagers surround their minds with rap music, if you're part of the 2% that stayed with rock, put this in your signature.

I hate it when that happens....but luckily it doesn't often happen to me.

For fun, I sometimes annoy my teammate to the point that he betrays me, and I get the option to boot. Its mean, but funny.

You know what I hate? Some kid betrays you five times, and you don't get the option. Then when you kill him once, he boots you. Bungie better fix the system.

Agreed, that is annoying.

I don't usually boot on purpose, when i die i usually hit all the buttons on the controller to get re-situated.

I dont understand this.

I can go about accidentally betraying as many as 3 people and still not get booted, while i always get option to boot on first betrayal. Op, and everyone else who says their experience is different, you must be betraying more often than "almost never".

If you can betray 3 ppl then either u are a total -blam!- noob or u just dont care about your team mates. Usually it only takes a person to be betrayed once by u and once by another person. If ur the second person to betray them then they will have option to boot u. However if you have benn xp banned for 2 weeks then u will be booted after 1st betrayel.

Actually, said incident has only occured twice. Once, in mlg, everyone was running over a bridge with the rocket launcher, i see the enemy, jumps, but due to the latency my trigger reacts 1/4 of a second later, at which time my friends are in the crosshair, the second was in swat when a friend shot me in the back (without killing). I was so shocked i spun around and naded the floor, killing two friends. After that they kept running into my bullets in hope if me betraying, one succeeded. Still no boot.

These two instances probably make up 1/4 of my betrayals in my 2000 games career.
