Personally, it sounds like a completely subjective question, but what's your opinion?

Personally, being a high rank in both, they both have very competitive communities. But Gears 2 is much more broken game than Halo 3, so much more BS goes on then just the common shots through walls, and blood shots in Halo 3.

Hates to love and loves to hate.

Gears of War 2?No.
Gears of War?Probably more than Halo 3, less than Halo 2.

"Where are you, God, you f.ucking f.aggot? Come and get me!" Neil Armstrong

I've got medium speed internet.

It's impossible for me to play GoW2, I can barely play Halo 3.

I've had limited offline experience in GoW2, so I can't really make an accurate statement on the matter. It seems like Halo is more based on teamwork, though.

Halo is the most skilled because of the simplicity...its move and shoot more or less...that makes it skilled because you have to think to escape a bad situation rather than remembering a button combo...
Gears of war isn't about button combos.

I would argue though, that wall bouncing takes more skill than strafing, but after TU6, it's much less effective.

I'd agree. Gears 2 has some major bs, and the consistency is terrible.

After TU6, all people do is Two-piece and hard aim, which makes the game even less enjoyable than it already was. I often find myself having to active before I even come into contact with an opponent, or else there's a good chance I'm going to get downed.

Hold your ground, hold your ground! Sons of Gondor, of Rohan, my brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of woes and shattered shields, when the age of men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!

The first gears of war was really hard dude.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

The fact that Gears 2 required six title updates should speak volumes...

Oh, don't get me wrong, Epic really screwed the pooch with Gears 2, but it's still a decent game, if you can get used to the inconsistency.

I agree. But I enjoyed playing the campaign more than anything; I'm rubbish online, my tactic involves charging around with the Lancer's chainsaw stalking enemies. :P

Haha, that wouldn't really work anymore.

You flinch when you get hit by shots while revving the chainsaw up.

My stats.

Uh, we had a slight weapons malfunction, but uh... everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here now, thank you. How are you? ...

This is why Halo takes more skill IMO. GoW doesn't have the wide variety of effective tactics you can use to do well. Mostly it due to the fact that all the standard weapons kill so slowly. It's unreliable you'll get a kill without using the 1 hit weapons or following up with a melee. It's like every game in GoW is a Halo AR start game with only power weapons on the map...
