That's... not really cool... Terran Grunt
The fact of the matter is that a lot of young people play Halo.
Furthermore, parents no longer care about what their kids say or do. This leads to kids in the range of Jr. High school to be the absolute epitome of arrogance and bigotry. They use these terms becuase they think it's cool, group mentality ingrains it in them and with no parental guidance they believe it's appropriate.
Lastly, the anonymity of the internet allows kids to behave in whatever way they choose, with absolutely no consequences. This comes in the form of player names like "[N-word] LOVER", "a -blam!-", or countless others. It also comes out in their speech, calling nearly everyone and/or everything -blam!-, -blam!-/-blam!-, [N-word], whatever. Swearing in general is very prevalent, I'm just listing the racial/-blam!- slurs. Also, my most hated behaviour, teamkilling. In any fashion, whether it be the slick, well oiled Tk'ing machine of (ME)=KING, or just killing a bunch of teammates before you leave the server. I know quite a few people that think Tk'ing right before you leave is fine, but it's the same thing, you would NEVER do it if it weren't anonymous.
The bottom bottom line is that you can't do anything about it. We can't stop these kids from playing Halo, and we can't force their parents to teach them ethical behaviour. The best advice here is just to ignore it. Don't fret over what you cannot change.
The sad truth.
