Subject: To all you people buying Halo PC just for the nameplate...

RIP Halo 2: November 9, 2004-May 10, 2010
I was the 2nd to last person to get kicked off Halo 2, see the thread Here

Honestly, you guys are giving Halo PC a bad name. You guys need to buy the game for the game, not the nameplate. Halo PC is amazing, and is one of my favorite/most memorable multi-player experiences. The custom edition of the game is a Halo experience unlike any other, and I think everyone that is a Halo fan needs to try it out.

Sorry, I'm not trying to rant or anything, but I feel I had to get this out there. You people that bought Halo PC just for the nameplate don't even deserve it. The nameplates are meant to show your loyalty towards Bungie and Halo, and there is no loyalty if you bought the game just for that reason.

Thanks. :)

I agree Halo PC is a great game brings back old memories and battling on blood gulch online is great. For those who bought it just for the nameplate and chucked the box in a corner is just sad and are just wasting a work of art

I haven't gotten it yet. But if I buy it for the nameplate. It'll be because I played Halo CE on Xbox for like 3 solid years with my friends. I deserve a Halo 1 nameplate. Just because I didn't play it on PC doesn't mean I'm not "loyal". I've played the crap out of every Halo game they've made. It just sucks there's no way for them to tell that you've played Halo CE on Xbox.

It isn't our shiznit anymore.

I liked the system before where Bungie cut off the CD-key manufacture date and then announced the flair for it. Seemed more genuine, but then again, what if you only had the console version? Surely you would like to get credit for playing Halo 1 and representing your devotion to Bungie all these years. I think that is a good excuse for buying the game solely to get the flair.

Agreed, I wish they would have kept the cut-off date. But yes, I would feel bad for the huge percentage of people that played it on the console version, but it seems to many people are buying Halo PC for all the wrong reasons.

I've made it my life goal to never become too stressed. So if I appear to be doing nothing all the time and generally never working particularly hard on any task, that's my plan in action.

If you see any twelve year olds running around with it you know they bought it for the nameplate.

I personally bought it in 2005, right after I seen the Custom Map Team campaign and then SPv2 (A overhaul of Halo Combat Evolved's campaign with Halo 2 and 3 shiz in it).

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

I actually haven't come across anyone who has bought it just for the nameplate yet. Kinda odd.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Sometimes good things come from bad intentions, and vice-versa. People who bought Halo PC for the Reach flair are bound to at least try it. It's hard not to like Halo PC.

Or! or use it as the most epic coaster possible for any of the ten zillion brands of totally indentical and equally useless "energy drinks" everyone guzzles like water.

this, and the fact that you can't get the H2 one from Vista key. I bought it on PC for the sole reason that you could keep playing it online :(

Heh, I cant remember when I got Halo CE on the pc. But it was early enough that theer were 6 or so Bungie servers that awlays had great games on them. And then there was this website than ran and moderated race servers.

Good times. I have only ever seen one other person with a Halo CE tag in matchmaking. makes me feel old compared to all the other players, and I thought i was new.

I agree, man. I'm a proud owner since '06, and the game is amazing. Playing some Coldsnap, or even fun ol' Ambush. Sometimes I wonder if this game is finner than Reach.

Whatever Happens, Happens

I had gotten mine when it first came out so i could play online, but now i cant find my cd key and i want to get that nameplate

  • 09.28.2010 10:13 AM PDT

OMG a Pwny!

I still play the crap out of Halo on PC, mostly race.

  • 09.28.2010 7:53 PM PDT

Trying is the first step towards failure

I actually donated my Halo PC (couldn't use it anymore cuz I switched to Mac like in '07) like a week before Reach came out and knew about the nameplates. *Facepalm*

Support the Grunt revolution! no more being cannon fodder !

The nameplate thingy made me dig up my old halo game for pc (after looking around for ½ an hour at least), play it trough, and then i added the code, and then i was hooked, kept on going with halo 2 (also for PC, for which there is no nameplate sadly, even though i played it online for ages...), and tomorrow, halo 3, and finally some halo ODST achievement hunting, would like to hear the rest of the messages and find some the last clues :)

so the nameplate thingy aint all bad, as long as people doesn't just buy it for the nameplate and then throw it out...that would be sad...

I beg to differ, I'm twelve, but I've been playing this game since it came out.
