hey all, i recently had the "execption error" during an online game( blood gulch , same server i always play) and as soon as the guy said "slayer" it closed and had the "execption" , any way i decided to re-install it, and now i always get an error message while installing that says samething like "the program C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Binkw32.dll is in use please delete the file or close the program using it" or some crap like that, i tried deleteing the file and it says "request denied " or something and i cant move it to anyother folder , and i also cant seem to figure out a program that uses it,,, any help here would be appreciated...i love playing and i have been without it for a few days now........... this sucks i think im going to kill myself............ lol jk ,, but im really mad about it, please help a comptuer noob thats really good at halo lol.... any help could be posted or email me at mjb2626@netzero.com or you can AIM me at anniku989 tahnks all

Some simple solutions...binkw32.dll is component for the BINK video codec and is used to play compressed movies (in apps like Halo.) I say this only because halo may not be the only program you have running this app. What OS are you running? it might be possible to install halo in safe mode from your OS without having to do anything drastic. With luck, the program that is using bink32 will not be running in safe mode.

that's a simple solution. A little harder is to open task, click ever process and see if it could be using binkw32.dll and kill the entirte process tree.

I seem to remember hearing something simular a while back that was fixed with an adware or virus scan. you can also try those, if it'll ease your mind. There is a program you can use on the web...webopedia or something (google) that can tell you what each process in your task manager is and whether or not it is necessary to operating OS.

by OS i hope your talking about operating system right? lol, i have windows XP home, if thats what your looking for , and if you could , what is your aim , mine is anniku989 , AIM me if possible so we can talk faster and maybe get this annoying problem solved, thanks
