In time, this blood supply will change me from red to white.

so i was watching the live action halo short landfall and noticed something interesting. i noticed that one of the two initial ODSTs that you see has the blood type O+ on his shoulder. (he'll be the one who ends up driving the warthog.) well in ODST, the rookie, when on data hive, has a cutscene where he meets up with dare and you see his shoulder piece saying O+ as well. now this could all be coincidental but, the time frame is right. odst ends right where halo3 begins and the rookie was an important, even hidden, ONI asset. so for him to be on the mission to track the chiefs landing position as he fell into earth is quite possible. unfortunately, if it is the rookie in landfall, this is where he dies. a gravity hammer wielding chieftain hits him into a wall and blood from his head splatters behind him. so could this be the rookie? idk, but it does seem possible.

thoughts?

It sounds reasonable. This is going to bug me now. I'm going to have to find out for myself

We'll probably never find out for sure, but that does sound like a reasonable conclusion. It could just be a coincidence, though, as Landfall was released before Halo 3 came out, meaning Bungie may not have even thought up of the Rookie then. However, they could've based the Rookie off the guy in landfall, so like I said, we'll probably never know for sure.

Welcome to the world of the Plastic Beach!

its reasonable, but im sure more than 1 odst would be O+, figuring thousands of them fought for earth

yeah i was thinking about that, and the rookie was established in a halo novel long before odst. so he was already character.
