2600th post!

I tried to find some ways to skip enemy spawns in exodus with the jetpack but unfortunately there's a surprising amount of ceiling barriers around the place :/

Halo Reach Mythic Conqueror

Just watched it. Very interesting. Shouldn't be too bad as long as i can successfully hijack the banshee then wraith. I always feel like I have bad luck trying to get vehicles on mythic. On sword base I died a lot trying to get the wraith and on exodus I died trying to get it. Hopefully by now I've figured out what to do.

Last night I tried a run and got to the part right after using the scorpion. I was trying to fight everything in the courtyard. I like how you just barreled through the elite in a ghost and peaced out. Good stuff

Exodus in 33:15. It would've been a few minutes faster had I not killed everything with the wraith after arming the second missile battery. I had honestly had enough of those 2 damn chieftains at the end there to warrant a mass genocide on the immediate covenant threat.

Edit: I foresee myself completing PoA next. I can get to the landing pad no problems now and getting passed it is just dependent on whether the FRG chieftain wants to play nice or not.

As for LNoS, it's more dependant on me being able to stealth it than anything else really.

As for completion times, I have the following predictions:
PoA: 35-45 minutes
LNoS: 45-50 minutes

Nice job on improving you time, but mine is still faster, unless you paused it and went to go get a drink or something. Did you pause it during your run?

I did ONI: Sword Base today! In 18:29*!!!

:D

Stats, film.

Did the first fight in just over 4 minutes which I was quite pleased with. Yoinked the Ghost that spawns on the path to Air View base, then tried to Target Locate the General there. Didn't really go according to plan since it just shoved him towards me. Picked off the grunts, splattered one Ultra, had a VERY close call with the second ultra but managed to hop back in my Ghost and splatter him to. Landed sweet knifey justice on the General and booked it out of there.

I had intended to kill the General with the target locator, kill the grunts with the DMR, and then have the Ultras run towards me and then splatter or just rush around them to the back entrance. Ah well.

I found a pretty safe path round the outskirts of the connecting route between Air-View and Farragut. Just blasted straight past them.

At Farragut I just hit the switches then boosted down the path back towards Sword Base, deloaded the enemies, and came back to claim my Guass Hog. Took the scenic route from there back to Sword Base and just bypassed the Revs and Wraiths (who I didn't kill lol).

Got a target locator killpocalypse on the ramp back towards coutyard then grenaded the 'hog over the barrier, and used it on the Hunters.

Took a while at the top of the elevator but eventually managed to PP his shields off and then headshot him. I really hate that that scanner thingy stops you from hitting the Grunts more easily :/

Did a Concussion Rifle Jump up the inside of Sword Base :)

Meant to have a second one to get to the 3rd level quicker but I took a bit of extra damage from the enemies during the first one that I thought I better not risk it.

Its not perfect, but it's nicely in line with my target of sub-20 so I'm pretty happy with it.

*That'll be the time that'll go on HSH. The film time is 19:06 since I waited for Jorge to say 'Beautiful, ain't it?' in the final cutscene :)

Sweetsauce. I'll have to have a look at that for when I come to Exodus.

As for completion times, I have the following predictions:
PoA: 35-45 minutes

I had a go at PoA today as well, and unfortunately I died just outside the room with the Zealots in. The dual-weilder rushed straight out the door at me when he got mad that I was tricking him with the holograms! The film time up to there was only 25 something, and that was with the Engineer and the grunts dead already. So, I'm gonna be aiming for sub-35, and sub-30 is not out of the question if I'm lucky.

As a side note: can I restate that I believe going for the Mac gun without killing all off the Zealots is basically insane. I saved and quit and tried to finish off the last room with only killing 1 dual-weilder and the Feild Marshall and died before getting off the second shot. I took fire from the remaining Zealots as I was running to and climbing in the Mass Driver so just a couple of shots from the Phantoms decked me.

Honestly, after spending 40 minutes, an hour, whatever on this level, an additional couple of minutes to finish off the Zealots and guarantee 100% shields and a few distracted shots with a hologram is so worth it.

IMHO.

Edit: My current total time is 5 hours, 14 minutes 7 seconds. I hope to bring that down to < 3 hours 45 minutes by the time I'm finished with Long Night (maybe lose 20 minutes from that?), Exodus (lose half an hour), the Package (10 minutes maybe?) and PoA: (50 minutes).

Once I'm done cleaning up my runs I doubt I'll be hitting up Mythic again anytime soon. Speedrunning's not really my forte. There's fast, then there's fast. I think I'll leave the latter to you ;)

Aura, I'm very impressed with the speed at which you have improved your mythic times and the run times themselves. If I had more time I'd be right there with you, Mythic 2.0, but school and medical applications are kicking my gluteus right now.

Wait for the walkthrough before going hardcore on this method. There's a rhyme and rhythm to it, but I can assure you that after assisting other conquerors, when done properly, this is the simpler way of doing things, and those I've assisted will agree.

I can certainly understand the means behind your method and will suggest in the guide as a "plan B" route, but I still prefer mine and haven't had any issues with it yet.

In terms of testing, keep in mind that when you're doing save & quit and engaging in the same battle over and over again after the save, many times the AI behave nearly the same exact way, so that "Mythic Fluke" that you may have otherwise seen only once you end up dealing with over and over again.

Have you tried testing several times from Rally Point Bravo? You may find yourself getting more successful results.

Keep in mind that when playing the game, we all come across "Mythic Luck" from time to time. I'm sure every conqueror here can vouch for that :-)

Honestly, after spending 40 minutes, an hour, whatever on this level, an additional couple of minutes to finish off the Zealots and guarantee 100% shields and a few distracted shots with a hologram is so worth it.

As stated above, if it makes you personally feel better about jumping into the mass driver with every zealot dead, by all means take that route. To each their own. But I can confirm that even with all three Zealots (sans Field Marshall of course) still alive, even with my shields down I can still land both shots.

And I tip my hat to you, good sir, in regards to your latest Sword Base time. Awesome :-)

Ok. I'll do this. If I could do it reliably it'd definitely be wicked in a speedrun, but even in my Legendary Speedrun I took out every single enemy in that room. I often died when I didn't. Dying right at the end of even a 15 minute run is still sucky.

So I'm getting pissed off at LNoS. On my two most recent runs, I died in by a Focus Rifle elite, which got me real mad after making it that far.

My next run, something happened that I never thought COULD happen. I was in my Saber, minding my own business, when I got into a head-on fight with a Seraph. Done this tons of times before. The Seraph always pulls away and lets me chase and destroy it. Not this time. This time, for some reason, he shot me OUT of my Saber, and my Saber just floated away, still with it's shields up. WTH. I guess my canopy got destroyed and left me vulnerable or something? Whatever. I was pissed off. Still am.

Halo Reach Mythic Conqueror

LNoS is just the worst. It can be so frustrating at times, but keep at it and eventually it will all come together. I've never seen being shot out of a Saber that's crazy. I would usually try to find which ever seraph was shooting me, engage them in a head to head chicken battle and then do a barrel roll at the last second and then pursue them.

Speaking of frustrating, I played through the package yesterday and I died after I got the "Objective Complete" message and all I had to do was get to the lab door. So many enemies were about and I was excited and got careless

do a barrel roll

I read that, and I really shouldn't have, but I lmao'd. Just the thought of Peppy in space up there with you saying "Do a barrel roll!" made me laugh too much.

And that sucks with your package run. How were you going about it? Banshee? Wraith? Once you get the objective complete status you can always jetpack over the rocks to the door, avoiding the enemies in doing so.

There's a speedrun leaderboard in the Quest for SLASO group which is updated every so often, so if you want to set some time's check there first. Of course if you're not already a member you'll have to join and be accepted first.

Yes. Exactly like that. This mission is annoying me like crazy.

As for the beginning, I've created a pretty effective way at gathering the rockets:

Instead of blowing up the Wraith, I wait for it to fall, pop the grunt in the head, run up, and kill the elite inside and take the Wraith. I then proceed to take out the initial covenant forces, and when those are done with, Carter usually jumps in the turret. At this point, I boost over the right sandbag, and use the Wraith to move a crate to block the door that leads towards the Wraith platform, blocking off all new incoming Covenant there.

I then park the Wraith in the upper right hand side. I then go in, swap out for first rocket, melee the second guy for second rocket, sprint, kill elite, and run back out. Carter is usually still sitting in the turret of the wraith blasting away at all the new covenant forces. He doesn't really kill them, but he forces them back down the hill, which clears the area for me to grenade the incoming Marines. If one shipment of marines doesn't give me a rocket guy, I will usually jump in the Wraith and take out an elite just to keep their numbers down.

It's been working pretty well. I've just been running into issues in space recently. I was recently splattered by the Savannah while attacking the Corvette for the second time.

For reference. THIS is the sub-4 minute run.

Or you can do a search and then read the excerpt under the title to find the right one.

So I can't help but notice on the HBO guide you have lone wolf listed. Are you going to actually write up a guide for that level? It seems like one sentence will pretty much cover it,

"Run around until you die."

Halo Reach Mythic Conqueror

So I was on the package and I was at the part where the wraith is dropped off and I took my banshee to go steal it and the AI in the game decided to ruin everything.

First off, as I was flying I got to the area where the wraith was and my banshee just randomly exploded right when I got out of it and then when i was walking around there was no wraith to be found anywhere. So I went into the theater and watched the video and the wraith just drove off the cliff for no reason and my banshee truly blew up from nothing, I was then stranded on the far side of the map, shielded and a banshee swooped in and killed me with 1 shot.

I put the video on my file share if anyone wants to see it, its kind of funny but also frustrating.

Louis put that, actually. Tyrant writes the guides and Louis puts them up. He put all the missions on there as placeholders.

That said, last I heard Tyrant WAS working on something for Lone Wolf for mythic.
