How often does that happen? And what does he do when he gets stuck in crouch? I do not believe I've seen that before... does he crouch behind something? Or what?

He crouches behind the central pillar and just stays there. Be careful though; he still glances around and stuff, so make sure you stay out of his peripheral vision. In my run, this is how I kill him, but I got the idea from AuraSoldier.

Does anyone else have issues when they try to seek on a rendered video? All it does for me is act like it is loading but I've never once been able to actually skip ahead. I always have to watch the whole video from the start

If the video is particularly long, I find Silverlight is sometimes fussy when it comes to seeking. Once the part is loaded, there's no problem.

Try updating it if it's not already. If that doesn't work, then I simply don't know.

New Alexandria Mythic 14:09. (stats)

Its a solid 6 minutes faster than my previous run of 20:28. With that said, the randomness of NA is still maddening sometime since Buck showed up on one of his silly escort missions and cost me a good minute and a half. In addition to that, I screwed up when trying to hijack the banshee on top of the Hospital and wasted another 30 seconds there. So this route could definitely be done in under 12 minutes with a bit of luck.

Enjoy. I'm gonna be leaving New Alexandria like this for a while (since I'm sick of the randomness) and moving on to trying to improve another mission, probably PoA since I've got a route ready for that one. So, if anyone feels like taking the record they can.

Well done, RC. I might give it a go over spring break in a few weeks. Midterms are taking up all my time atm.

Halo Reach Mythic Conqueror

So I got to the mass driver room and while jumping up to the rafters an elite killed me with a grenade. I didn't want to let my run go to waste so I saved and quit to give that room a practice run. Of course on the practice run I jumped up to the rafters without even being shot at...damn you mythic.

Also, I have been trying to practice the final shot with the mass driver and I can't seem to hit the glassing port. Is the crosshair in a weird spot? Does it take more than one shot? I've heard you all say that the shot is sort of a coin toss, is this because it doesn't work sometimes or because all the phantoms there will murder you if you miss?

Also, my run through the landing pad went flawlessly and I thought I may have had a chance. I even had needle rifle ammo and DMR ammo to spare after the fight..

EDIT: So you have to aim WAY lower than I thought, also I was only able to get it with 2 shots, I don't know if this was because I missed the first or it actually takes 2. 90% of the time I haven't been able to get off 2 shots though without dying. If this is how it has to end, that really sucks. Has anyone tried to do it the intended way? Killing all the phantoms and such? I suppose they would easily overwhelm you and this requires you to kill all the elites in the room as well. It just seems like there has to be a better way

Dead centre of the screen. Same place your crosshairs are for most vehicles.

Does it take more than one shot?
Yes. 2 shots with the Mythic Skull on.

Has anyone tried to do it the intended way? Killing all the phantoms and such?
Yes. Its literally impossible.

I suppose they would easily overwhelm you and this requires you to kill all the elites in the room as well. It just seems like there has to be a better way
Well tyrant's guide will be out on Friday so that should explain the nuances a bit better. That said, I and most of the conquerors killed all the Zealots first and then triggered the gun. I find there is very little room for error when skipping the Zealots.

I did it on solo legendary with the help of Tyrant's guide, and that was almost too difficult for me. I don't think I'm ready for Mythic yet.

I hated jumping up onto the rafters. You're so exposed. You can use a hologram to draw fire away from you, but it's still really close.

Yeah, I was surprised when I finished my first three mythic levels in one day.

Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

Best Regards,
The Tyrant

The guide won't actually be out until next Friday since Wu is on vacation this week (or just out of town).

In regards to the Mass Driver, I don't know if you saw the run I posted last week, but the amount of walking you do on the railing facing the Elites (when approaching the Mass Driver) is very minimal, and the one area where you're in a position that they can shoot at you is where I used the drop shield and had no problems.

Thus far, the only thing that's killed me during that segment are the ships themselves. Not the Zealots. And as I've stated previously, the ship ordeal is a coin toss. I've been able to shoot off both rounds before with no shields, and I've also jumped in with full shields and was absolutely destroyed. Number of ships, positions, Banshee bombs seem to be the main factors that you can't control. But you'd be dealing with these things regardless whether or not you kill the Zealots.

Different strokes for different folks I suppose. Personally, I get irritated when trying to kill the Zealots, so I just skip them. Haven't had an issue with it yet, so I'm sticking to it.

Tyrant, Just watched your exodus run, and I noticed you took a huge risk near the end. Did you end up using the invisibility or not? I would think that using it would minimize the enemy shots.

The part I died at was where you jump onto that crane thing and then up to the light, I didn't use a drop shield because I thought the pillar behind would have provided sufficient cover, I will know better next time.

If you're quick enough and don't hesitate, you can get up their before they notice you. Otherwise, you'll need the drop shield.

Yes, I did. But even that will not guarantee your safe passage to the switch.

Well, I tried LNoS again. Once again, the General at the end decided to shove his foot up my ***. I thought I had him stuck behind the pillar, so I moved in, just to find out that he was just obstructed by the pillar. I moved out the way to dodge him, and he decided to roundhouse kick me in the face.

I am getting so annoyed that I am THIS close to beating the mission, and this guy keeps downing me. On my first time through this mission, I saved&quit just so I could play through the entire mission and get a feel for it, and I was able to destroy the control room no problem. I have no idea why I'm having such issues now...

@Michael_Arhcer
I'll DL your video and see if that works for me.

I know people already said this, but the needle rifle trick worked for me. All it takes is one shot and he will dodge and you can close the distance, I've even had it happen where you shoot, he dodges, you get behind him, and he completely forgets that you were even there and the assassination is pretty easy if you move in right away. The time I beat LNoS, I think he did do a drop kick swing around but I dodged and landed the assassination on his back.

How are you at dodging the kick and getting around to their backs? It took me awhile to get that technique down and I really refined it on LNoS charging and assassinating the elite who is in the hallway before you go to the launch room. I remember watching Tyrant's sword base guide and he assassinated that first elite and every time I tried it I just got owned so I'm pretty sure I just ended up PPing everyone there. But the point is, getting in close with elites takes a little practice

I brought drop shield for the entire outside fight and the fight inside, all the way until the point that I was going to fire the MAC. At that point, I went back outside, grabbed the Hologram in the house where you melee the box, and went back. I found that the hologram saved me 2 or 3 phantom blasts which was helpful. However, I recommend the drop shield for the rest of the fights.

Now, I still recommend skipping the 2 elites inside as they are just an added danger which you can avoid, but you can still get past them with hologram after you've cleaned up the rest using drop shield if need be.

I wasn't sure at first. But when I watched closely it definitely saved me from some fire. When using it, and killing the zealots first, my success rate has been far above 50%.
