Has anyone tried giving the marine AI in the passenger seat the TL to see what would happen? Thanks, Hass

Yes, I've tried. You can't give it to allies.

Posted by: Der Hasenjaeger
I've only been able to get the Gauss Hog over the barricade once. Do you have a method for doing it consistently? Thanks, Hass

On ONI: Sword Base? Use a grenade to launch it over, side-ways-ish. Or use a Revenant or Ghost as a ramp. That is, if shooting of the corners of the barriers and ramming it is failing for you.

Oh, look, this is interesting. Did the easiest mission just get easier?

Has anyone tried using the Club Errera easter egg as a way to bypass the 4 hunters? Hass

Yes. If you'd rather deal with a dozen grunts, some with FRGs and 3 brutes, rather than the 4 hunters, go ahead. But don't go in expecting it to be a free ride. I just kept the hunters.

If you hit the second switch on top of the building itself the grunts wont attack only the three brutes will but there is a needler rifle at the jammer. So I will use this way.

Ugh, I keep getting stupid deaths on Exodus. It should be so simple... Last time, I fell while trying to collect some more ammo around the landing pad and damaged my shields, meaning the banshees tore me up. Oh, and btw, those Falcon pilots are USELESS. Oh yes, lets just fly straight through the swarm of banshees! No thought for maybe, I dunno, EVADING THEM!

*sigh*

What I did was make sure that I got full shields before getting in the falcon and when your on the falcon I tried to take down as many banshees as I can. Also make sure the brute with the plasma repeater is killed before he can hurt you.

Btw instead of doing yourself damage with grenades (and risk suicide what happened to me sometimes :p) to pick up a medkit you can do yourself damage with a charged plasma pistol bolt against a wall.

Personally, I'm more worried about the hospital than the club...

The hospital is the hardest of the 3 (that's if you skip the 4 hunters) mainly because you need to take the area slowly and there's more enemies. Usually if I go to the Sinoviet building before the Hospital, I can grab a rocket launcher and some extra ammo for it and use it for quick kills against the engineers in the building. As for the rest of the stuff in the hospital:

- Take out the initial grunts and jackals whilst keeping your distance and making good use of the cover that is available.

- Kill the brutes before the jammer with the plentiful amount of DMR ammo that is littered around the initial stairwell area.

- Kill the 6 or so ranger elites by going up to the high walkway on the left and wait for a ranger to stop moving (and oddly get stuck) next to a pillar and remove his shields with plasma fire.

- Kill the 2 skirmishers with needle rifles that stay behind the concussion rifle elite. When dealing with the elite, hide, pop out and throw a grenade whilst moving up on him, and dance around him for an assassination.

Hope it helps.

Any thoughts regarding the Drones?

I just run past the buggers as quickly a possible. For a bit more detail though:

1. I get the drop shield if I haven't already.
2. I get any DMR ammo I need along with the rockets and rocket ammo for the hospital.
3. If you had the jammer's pov and you are facing back towards the entrance, as soon as you shut down the jammer I run to the right side and get to the elevator as quickly as possible. the right side is the one opposite to the drop shield and only 4 drones max seem to go after you.

If you can headshot the drones consistently do so, otherwise just run like mad past them, and either get health or use your drop shield outside the elevator to provide that temporary barrier between yourself and them.

Yes by walking on the edge to the left so that I could better kill the covenant to get the rocket warthog.

Try as I might, I couldn't bring more than 1 laser through the Load-zone immediately after the 'boneyard' area. And that had to be in my hands.

What I did was make sure that I got full shields before getting in the falcon and when your on the falcon I tried to take down as many banshees as I can. Also make sure the brute with the plasma repeater is killed before he can hurt you.

Thats what I did do, but when searching around for a bit of extra ammo (that I didn't need really) I accidentally dropped way down into the first jetpack area. And all the ammo and healthpacks from that area had disappeared, and I'd already used the ones above.

do yourself damage with a charged plasma pistol bolt against a wall.
Huh, thinking about it, that would work! Good idea.

Erm, ONI: Alpha Site isn't too bad once you get past the first fight. Have a look at my run. Mostly for the major skip once you get back into Sword Base.

Yes. Run up the left side like Aura said. But I wanted the Rocket Hog and a bit of AI distraction. So I fought it out. Its basically the hardest bit in the level, and since its at the start, its not so bad.

Thanks for the tips!

Any thoughts regarding the Drones?

I just run past the buggers as quickly a possible.

And how do you do that? SPRINT!

2 full bursts should get you there with minimal damage. If you do take damage, there is always a healthpack right by the entrance to the elevator (I always ran to the left for some reason, don't know why, seemed nicer).

Do the ol' weapon swap trick to move any Armour Ability you may want to right in front of the elevator of your choice. but NOT inside the elevator. This is very important, since if you swap an armour ability into the elevator, you will not be able to pick it back up again.

Whack the jammer, sprint back to the elevator, grab health if necessary, pick up your armour ability, and hit the switch to bring you back down to your Falcon.

I get any DMR ammo I need along with the rockets and rocket ammo for the hospital.
Of which there are 4 shots in total, as an FYI. With 2 more in the RL inside Club Errera.

guide.

Locations and descriptions.

"North" is towards the sunset. The mountain range is to the S/SE and the glassed city is towards the W/SW. The play area is a rough rectangle, with its longest sides to the N and S. You start on a circular, green-ish lighted pad in the SE corner of the play area. If you get teleported for 'evac', this is where you will return.

"Always There" Objectives
These buildings will flash yellow when you look in their direction.

Vyrant Tower - Club Errera.
"4Charlie2-7 to Command; request immediate assistance." "Go ahead 27." "We're at the Vyrant Telcom Tower. Got Hunters between us and the jammer" "Copy 27, help is on the way. Noble Six i'm sending you coordinates for the Vyrant Tower. Go get those Trooper un-stuck."
Objective: Destroy the Covenant Jammer at the tower.
Location: Large building, orange sign at the top with faint 'V' on it. N middle of the area.
Intel: 4 Hunters.

SinoViet Centre - Reflection
"Mayday, mayday, 7Delta1Niner to all UNSC forces." "Whats your status 1Niner?" "We found the jammer, but we're gettin' hit. Request immediate assistance, SinoViet Centre is.. *uugh*" "You still with me 1Niner? 7Delta1Niner, do you copy? Six, I'm uploading coordinates now. Get to SinoViet Centre, help those Troopers if you can, but get that jammer offline either way."
Objective: Destroy Covenant Jammer at Sinoviet - Destroy the Covenant Jammer in Sinoviet Industries
Location: South middle. large, green triangle on side of building.
Intel: clear on the way in. Plenty of ammo and armour abilites. Buggers on the way out. Can sprint straight past no problem.

The Hospital
"Stand by Six. One of our Trooper Squads went silent after the Hospital got hit. I'll mark the location. Complete their mission, and take out the jammer."
Objective: Destroy the Covenant Jammer at the hospital.
Location: North-East corner of the map. Very large, fat building with small blue stamp on the side. Linked to a smaller building by a large curved bridge. Glow from a fire in the building. Tightly ringed by 4 towers linked by curved bridges.
Intel: Lots of enemies. Come prepared!

ONI HQ - Olympic Tower
"Noble 2 to Noble Leader, all jammers are down." "Solid copy Noble 2. All personnel are to be evacuated from ONI HQ..."
Objective: Go to the ONI building - Fly to the ONI building
Objective2: Destroy the anti-air Shades to evacuate the Pelicans.
Location: Tallest accessible building. Set of red-tipped spires on the top. Set in the middle of a large group of smaller buildings. East of Vyrant, West of the hospital, North of SinoViet. Darker tinged than the rest of the buildings.
Intel: The 6 shade turrets are laid by 3 Phantoms on the 6 nearest buildings, of irregular height, to the tower. You should be able to spot the Shades quite easily from the trails of plasma. You must land on the highest landing pad on the South-East facing side of the building. Just below the blue windows.

Random objectives
Two of these will come up, in a random order, in between your 3 main jammer sites

"7Charlie4Zero to HQ, we've got incoming hostiles on top of the Mains-Traiger building. Requesting immediate assistance."
Objective: Defend Marines from Jackals - Rescue the Marines from Jackal infantry.
Location: Main-Traiger, the smaller, purple-highlighted building west of the large Hospital tower. One of the buildings bridge-linked in a ring around the Hospital complex.
Intel: On Mythic usu. Jackals with Needle Rifles.

"Golf2-7 to HQ. We're on the Jonto building. Got Banshees all over us." "Leutenant, I'm sending you Jonto's coordindates. neutralize those Banshees."
Objective: Take down Banshees to assist the Marines.
Location: Jonto Building. North of *building with hole in it*. Bridge linked to the Nobolose tower (on-fire!). Part of the chain of 7 bridge-linked buildings that snake through the city.
Intel: 3 banshees

"Noble Six, we've got an evac op being harrassed by a Covenant Shade Turret. Neutralize it so we can get those people out of there."
Objective: Take out the Covenant infantry and anti-air turrets.
Location: *weird building with hole in it* very tall, flat building, with large irregular hole in it.
Intel: Two FRG Shade Turrets, 3 FRG Grunts, 1 Concussion Rifle Brute. Ammo will sometimes de-spawn very quickly.

"Oscar1-8 reporting, just took out a jammer and we're waiting for evac but taking sniper fire." "Understood 1-8. Six, clear that LZ."
Objective: Protect the Marines by killing the Jackal Snipers.
Location: South-East corner of the area. By the spawn point. The marines are on the building in between 3 indentical, red highlighted buildings. You should see the Focus Rifle beams from a distance, while the marines are still alive...
Intel: 3 Focus Beam weilding Jackal Snipers. There is 1 on each of the towers. On a ledge below the 4 horizontal, white lights.

"This is foxtrot2-1 on the DNBM Financial Tower, is anybody out there?" "Copy 2-1, go ahead" "We got Hunters tearing us a new one!" "Hang on. Noble Six, uploading coordinates."
Objective: Defend Marines Against Hunters - Rescue the Marines from Hunters.
Location: DNBM Financial Tower. the building immediately East of the Vyrant tower. Criss-cross pattern on the roofing sections.
Intel: 2 Hunters.

"Six, Covies brought out a mobile jammer to mess with our short-range. Sending you the waypoint, go deal with it."
Objective: Destroy the jammer and infantry - Destroy a Covenant Jammer and eliminate the infantry.
Location: West of the SinoViet Centre. North-East of *building with big hole in it*. Cooling towers and a series of pipes on the roof. It is on fire in its North-Western edge. Billowing smoke. The Jammer pulses a blue light every 2 seconds that you may be able to use to spot the building.
Intel: 5 Brutes with Concussion Rifles and Needle Rifles. 3 Grunts, one with an FRG. You must land to destroy the jammer.

"1Alpha3 to Command. Covies got us pinned down on a roof top. We need help pronto. Uploading the waypoint, over." "Copy 1Alpha3. Noble Six, proceed to waypoint and give those troopers a hand."
Objective: Defend Marines against Brutes - Rescue the Marines from Brutes
Location: ENE of Olympic Tower (ONI HQ). The building slighty outside of the set of buildings that shades are put on later. Has a bright blue (lighted) stripe on each side.
Intel: 4 Brutes with short range weapons. No AA threat.

"Wisky3-Niner requesting immediate assistance." "Copy 3-Niner, go ahead." "Just picked up some evacuees, but we'ere surrounded by long-range shade turrets." "Solid copy 3-Niner. Leutenant, proceed to the waypoint and elimnate those shade turrets."
Objective: Assist the Pelican - Destroy the anti-air Shades to assist the Pelican.
Location: The set of 4 buildings NE of the SinoViet centre. SW of the Hospital. 3 larger, curved, damaged buildings with red-ish highlights, surrounding a smaller building in the centre.
Intel: 3 shade turrets on the 3 buildings surrounding the pelican on the smaller building in the centre. Plasma type.

"Noble Six, we're getting reports of Elites and Engineers trying to break into the Misriah Complex. Take it out.
Objective: Neutralize Elites and Engineers - Neutralize the Elites and Engineers.
Location: Purple topped building immediately South of the Vyrant Tower.
Intel: 3 Engineers which gives the 4 Elites near permanant overshields. Take the engineers out first, then the Elites. They will Needle Rifles and FRGs.

"Command, this is Gunnery Sergeant Buck, of the 11th ODST, over." "Copy Gunnery Sergeant. Go ahead" "My guys got caught in a firefight in the Nobolose Tower, roof collapsed. I gotta get over there to get them out." "Solid copy. Noble Six will escort your Falcon to the Tower"
Objective: Escort the Falcon.
Location: the falcon spawns on a tall building in the south-east corner of the map. The one with a thick tower, and a thin tower, connected at the top, and with struts between them.
Intel: You need to keep pace with the Falcon (ish). When it stops, get within 100m to trigger it again. It stops in front of the SinoViet building first. Then it circles around behind it. Then the building in front of the Vyrant Tower. Then to the Nobolose Tower (big crator in the roof, lots of flames).

"Command, this is Gunnery Sergeant Buck, of the 11th ODST, over." "Copy Gunnery Sergeant. Go ahead" "Need escort on a classified op. Send someone who knows how to fly a tight formation."
Objective: Escort the Falcon
Location: The Falcon spawns on the building SE of the ONI tower. In between the ONI Tower and the set of 3 red highlighted, curved buildings in circle. On the side nearest to the Hospital.
Intel: As above, keep up. First stop is just a take off right next to the building. Then, it heads towards Sinoviet, stopping in between two buildings (on of the bridge linked one, and another freestanding one). After that it stops at a building briefly and then flies out of the city. I encountered a LOT of Banshees during this mission, so stay sharp.

"Command, this is Gunnery Sergeant Buck, of the 11th ODST, over." "Copy Gunnery Sergeant. Go ahead." "Phantom's got one of my squads pinned, I need to take it out and evac my troopers."
"Objective: Escort the Falcon
Location: The Falcon begins by circling a small building directly North of the Vyrant tower.
Intel: Follow it. Again, lots of Banshees. It flies south on the east side of the Vyrant tower and then stops North West of the SinoViet centre. It then flies South to a small building SSW of SinoViet, where it engages a Phantom. Help Buck to destroy it. Once its dead, your objective is complete. The Falcon will land to pick up some ODSTs but you don't need to worry about it any more.

This list may not be complete. Let me know if you encounter any I've missed.

Yes. If you'd rather deal with a dozen grunts, some with FRGs and 3 brutes, rather than the 4 hunters, go ahead. But don't go in expecting it to be a free ride. I just kept the hunters.

In the video I watched, the brute just jams with the music. Are you sure you still have to fight them? And do I have to fly to the first switch, or can I just get the one on top of the club building?

And what is this "teleport for evac" about which I keep hearing on the same level?

Also, here is the DMR crate mentioned earlier.

Definitely with the 'Never Surrender' button (by the hospital), if you hit the jammer, or kill any of the enemies there, they all turn on you.

And what is this "teleport for evac" about which I keep hearing on the same level? Hop out of your Falcon on some random rooftop. Within a few seconds, a message should appear on your HUD saying 'press down on d-pad for evac'. On some buildings, they'll fly a new Falcon to a landing pad attached, on most buildings, it will black screen, and you will reappear on the spawning platform.

Then I guess you have to fight two brutes instead of three, if you're allowed to get the jump on them. In the video I watched, after initiating an attack on the brutes, the grunts kept rocking out. Can you sprint pass the remaining two?

That evac thing is a really useful feature. I remember in Halo 2 and 3 that you took more damage the more your vehicle was damaged. I'm assuming that it's the same in Halo: Reach.

Thanks for your guide. Now we need a team of mythicers to spend the next few months reading and interpreting it LOL. That must have taken a long time to compile. I'm sure it will be helpful when I get to that level.

On another note, it took me a few shocked and painful deaths to learn that grunts will automatically go suicidal if you go near them while cloaked.

If you first hit the switch at the hospital and then the second switch on the club itself the grunts won't attack when you destroy the jammer. There is a needler rifle near the jammer in the club. Use it to kill the three brutes. If you want I can post my run.

I'm not blind, I have eyes in front of my head...

I'm so glad you're doing this for Reach; mythic was so much fun in Halo 3... well except for Cortana but Budweiser took care of that.

Looking forward to reading about it and even trying it myself eventually like before.

Left of the Club, at the bottom of the stairs leading to the jammer.

Mythic Guardians, can one of you update the Reach times table so we can see what has been beaten and what sort of times we're looking at? You guys are awesome.

Online stats are nearly useless for that now. For some reason they include time spent in the pause menu, so if you're like me, and take a break during your high-stress high-adrenalin mythic run, your online stats will give you a time far in excess of your actual gametime.

Example. The timer on the site says '176 minutes' But my saved film is barely over 2 hours. I'd gone to get some food in the middle of it and, for an exexplicable reason, it counted that time.

EDIT: I now officially hate the civilians on Exodus. Honestly, if they're retarded enough to not only walk out in the open in the middle of a firefight, but to stand directly between me and an enemy in the middle of an engagement, THEY DESERVE TO DIE!!!

Seriously, one dead civi is not worth a Spartan's life. For any reason, ever.
