Thanks again to Tyrant's video, this weekly has been knocked out. Here's my adventure.
So my first run through the weekly, things are going perfect. Made it pretty much to the second covenant giant turret unscathed. Even splattered the elite right before the second turrent my first attempt at it.
I've taken out the second covenant turret, the wraith just disappeared (woohoo!!) and I'm working on the hunters. I noticed my helicopter ride is in a slightly different location than normal and the enemies are no longer attacking it. I didn't pay much attention to that and just used what seemed like a 1000 rounds from the revenant to destroy both hunters. There was also an elite chilling in the background just kind of hanging out as well but I said screw it, enough of the ground forces have been taken out and the elite's far away enough for me to take off safely.
I get to the chopper and I apparently need to flip it over. I jump into a turret and the helicopter never takes off. The elite in the background now comes running up to me and I blast at him but the damage hurts me as well and the chopper still isn't taking off!!! The elite is also not attacking but just standing right in front of my turret talking. I try to jump off but it won't let me and the background chatter continues like the game is making forward progress but we're just sitting on the ground.
So after realizing that the game is jacked up, I save and quit and restart from the last checkpoint. There's only one hunter which isn't too bad but I decide to investigate my helcopter as it's still in the same state as before. All I can ascertain at this point is that when the chopper got flipped over by all the covenant attacking it, the pilot automatically exited and got waxed instantly by the covenant. No matter what I do at this point, the next part of the game will never start because there's no pilot to fly the chopper. And it will not let me pilot it as well.
So I'm totally screwed and I have to restart the whole stage all over again. My second run through was not that great. I barely make it out alive from the initial battle of the stage. When I get to the second covenant turret, the wraith did not disappear magically like last time so I have to spend about a 1000 revenant bombs trying to take it out, then spend another 1000 rounds on the hunters and ground forces.
Things are looking on the up and up because my chopper is in working order, I have nearly 100% shields and life and all enemy ground forces are gone. Or so I thought. I'm trying to decide which weapon to replace my spent plasma cannon and this little f-ing jackal apparently was trapped between the destroyed wraith wreckage and a rock shoots a plasma blast at me and wipes out all my shields!!! So now I have to start the next flying scene with no shields!!!! And let me tell you that was a pain. I must've died about 10 times between the elites on the ground and the turrets blasting the crap out of my helicopter.
Needless to say, after much perserverance, I finally make it through the flying part and am greeted at the next checkpoint with a much needed health pack. Only to realize that I didn't even need to waste any time trying to find a weapon to replace my spent plasma cannon because the next checkpoint loads you up with a DMR and AR automatically once you finish the crash landing cut scene.
I'm glad this sucker is done but it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. One modification to the video I would highly recommend is since you can deal with the final elite one on one, use the plasma gun to just pepper his shields away as you draw him out. Use your jet pack to keep your distance if necessary, but it was much easier than trying to get him to commit suicide. And for some reason, the route that I take to deal with the second covenant cannon only causes one wraith to appear instead of two.
Quite a riveting tale, old chap! Thanks for sharing with us, and I'm glad we could help you! Keep up the excellent work!
