Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

I contacted support about my video rendering; it's just a matter of time now.

It'll be rendered eventually, but if you can't wait because you're speedrunning *cough*RC*cough*, you can always download it to Halo: Reach.

I come back to Mythic only to see Tyrant's post about being the "absolute hardest". >_<

Conquerors are not above dick jokes.

You should know that. :P

Just wait 'til the ODST Legendary guide...

Hey Tyrant, could you maybe give me some live Mythic tips sometime? I'm one of those people who need someone to show me in person, I suck at following videos or text guides.

YES.

When the dust settles, you will learn what true terror is.

In doing the daily today I decided to go full mythic. I also shaved a good chunk of time off of my previous run.

TotS in 18 minutes

Not really a speed run, but good enough considering both wraiths threw themselves off the cliff leaving me with the revenant and chain hog to deal with the hunters and other enemies (plasma launchers and DMR helped quite a bit too).

You can despawn the wraiths by driving down from that cliff, taking out the 3 jackals, then destroying the tyrant gun, then moving left around the rock until you see a slight pause, then move right around the other side of the rock, and it will despawn the wraiths. Then all you have to worry about is the 2 hunters, 1 elite, and some extra baddies.

Pretty much. The only real "shortcut" is skipping the beach fight.

There comes a time in every mans life... and that time is not now.

I tried getting full rockets. You failed to mention that the dropships drop 3 elites each time! So here i am, my marines all dead, i run out to pick up the rockets, and i get attacked by about 8 elites from 3 angles. Had to take the drop shield to protect myself, then i picked up sprint again and my drop shield despawned!

Good times.

Haha.

There's actually an easier way to get the rockets that involves hijacking the Wraith and setting up barricades so the Elites can't get to you. I'll see if I can get a video together today.

Woo! I -blam!- did it!

PoA Solo, under 30 minutes: DONE!

Film time is 29:24
HSH (in-game time) is: 28:46

Stats. Film.

Could be faster since I took out all the Zealots at the end. I've never had sucess when they were still alive.

Saw your film the other night, RC, and that was some the most insane campaign stuff I've ever seen. My jaw dropped when you used the conc rifle to blast yourself up to the MAC gun! I thought for sure that would've been instant death! My hat's off to you dude (or dudette, since you seemed to fashion the female N6), you certainly put out a great show.

And yeah, it definitely takes brass ones to whack all them Zealots. :O

If RC was a chick I think we'd all be inviting him to play with us...all the time.

I think it's safe to say getting all those rockets is definitely one of the most dangerous aspects of the first part of the mission. But I decided to only take six with me since that seemed to be more than enough.

I think I found an easier way to get enough rockets: Right after you clear the beach and you're prompted to enter the base, the first Pelican will arrive and there will be little to no Covie attackers. As soon as the soldiers drop, I threw two plasma grenades in their midst. If you're lucky, there will be two rocket marines that will, ahem, sacrifice their rockets to you. Scramble to get 'em and that should net you (again, if you're lucky) at least three rounds. Scramble to the front door where there's a rack of DMR's and drop your rockets there. When you enter the base and the rest of Noble starts moving inside, another rocket marine will run up to you. Quickly trade weapons with him. There will be another rocket marine on the semi open area where you'd otherwise be shelled by the wraith. Toss a frag grenade at him to, er, relieve him of his weapon. Now go back to the front door and recover the rockets you dropped there (unless they despawned, in which case, you'll have no choice but to gnash your teeth, grumble and do things the hard way). That way you should have at least five or six rockets without having to risk a mad dash blowing up your troops and getting their ammo.

Agreed, and a bad one at that. But I'll do it regardless.

I suppose that without Blind and with anyone able to quit and save upon death (yeah, I don't have mad skillz, I'm one of those), they figured that payoff was more than enough. But the pain and aggravation definitely warrants a bigger payoff.

Question though: how do you take control of the Pelican gun? Just crouch and keep crouching until your "merge" with it?

You have to be pressing whatever button you normally press to enter vehicles. For me its RB, but default controls is X I believe

Ok, I figured it'd be something like that. I gather though you'll never get a prompt for that (with or without Blind) since, of course Pelicans are not "driveable". :S
