Tyrant, I watched the ODST legendary guide interview, and I gotta ask. Why were you wearing one black glove? Is this some sort of Michael Jackson homage? Did your robotic hand get shot while trying to free princess Leia from Jabba's palace? What's the deal?

lol. Believe it or not, it's due to a real motorcycle injury.

However, there is a reason why I chose black rather than the tan one prescribed by the doctor. You'll find out why soon enough ;-)

The plot thickens...

didn't use any glitches or rocket strategies i used team work cept for LNoS we used brute force on that one

I'd like to see this "brute force" tactic. Film?

As far as preferring your own strategies, Tyrant's methods are the ones that are typically safest for people new to Mythic, and they are designed for solo play. With teammates, you start with different weapons and different enemies spawn.

EDIT: was this your run? Not very impressive, over 250 deaths and about 3 hours and 40 minutes to complete... Also no Blind on.

You did the challenge but you sure as hell didn't do Mythic. So grats on the 14k cR but you really have no reason to stay in this thread as any "strategies" you use apparently fail pretty hardcore on actual mythic.

Also. negative k/d from the assault rifle? Did your teammate(s) gun you down or did the AI decide to eliminate you?

Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

Best Regards,
The Tyrant

Shadow, General,

Are either one of you up for a dual-Mythic run on LNoS tonight? If we can get it done tonight, I'll post it on my channel :-)

As much as I'd love to, I have a Differential Equations exam tomorrow I need to study for... In fact the next month looks pretty backed up so my playtime will be limited to knocking out challenges here and there... So looking forward to graduating in May...

Alright so here goes my LNoS SLAASO adventure.

I'm following tyrant's video to the "t" and make it to the part where you have to kill your fellow marines coming off the pelican to stack up some rockets. First 2 drops works out pretty good. Next 3 drops, they all jump off the pelican with DMR's and snipers. So I say screw it and leave with only 6. I really wanted 8 because I just don't trust my skills yet. A word to the wise. When you're doing that part run over the rockets right away and then go back and HIDE. If you don't, sometimes the elites will see you and follow you back. If you manage to get out of their sights and hide well, wait for a pelican to arrive and the pelican arrival will cause them to retreat back to their normal places away from you.

Outerspace part has been THE hardest part of this stage. What usually happens is I come under attack, I spin and flip like crazy, and now I'm all the way out in the open nowhere near any cover. So I keep getting pelted from every direction. After some much grinning and bearing I finally make it onto the Corvette.

This is where things did not go like the video. Only one elite would jetpack out of the corvette so now I have more sitting down there. The problem I have now is that I have no idea how many are down there, so after I rocket 3 of them I hop down and what do you know, there about 3 or 4 more left. Luckily I have the bubble shield and they only attacked me one at a time. So one would come, I throw up the shield pull out the sword and now I have a perfect formula for being at 100% shields and health. So I've cleared the bridge and the next room with the engineers in the air after much patience was used to kill the sniper elites.

I kill the next 2 Ultras in the hallway with little fanfare and I'm in the room with 3 Ultras. I use Tyrant's idea of shooting through the small slit to pepper and head shot 2 of them. Now I'm trying to figure out where the 3rd one went (the one with the mini cannon) and he's nowhere to be found. I thought like in Tyrant's video, he went somewhere in the room and just stopped moving but he was nowhere to be found. Maybe he called Capt. Piccard and requested to be beamed out of there. I even checked the hallway leading to the main bridge (the one with the 3d image of the planet floating in the air) but he wasn't in there either.

I do the tyrant barricade and now I'm moving into what looks like the main command area of the ship. I'm watching the one walking elite and I realize that he's never going to sit still long enough for me to assassinate him first. So I say screw it and run up and knock out the closest grunt, the walking elite is walking away, doesn't see me so I run up to him and knock him out, and now I'm next to another Elite who is unaware of what has transpired and has his nose in the console typing away. So I knock him out and I figured I didn't want to stretch my good luck and I hightail it back to the door. To my surprise, the general elite and sword Elite have no idea what has happened and are still busy at their computers. I can't believe how luck I am because now I have no covenant patrols to watch me as I try to sneak up on them. As a precautionary measure I check the room to make sure there isn't another roving invisible elite. I find 2 grunts staring at some monitor, so I butt stroke the first one, but the second grunt sees me some how and my good luck has ended.

Killing the sword elite is easy, just wear his shields down with the plasma rifle and then pop him in the head. If you're worried you don't have enough time kill him, just back pedal all the way to the previous door and he'll just back pedal away from you once your back hits the door. After killing him, I get a checkpoint with the general standing behind a purple crate so I have to do no maneuvering to get right up on him and do the plamsa rifle/assassination 2-step.

I barricaded the hallway and doorway where the covenant appear when you hit the switch just like the video. Turns out I barricaded it so well they pop out, 1 at a time and it's like shooting fish in a barrel. The elite runs in and of course is stuck at the hallway barricade and is an easy assassination.

Got me a checkpoint, 100% life and shields and that's when I called it a night. Hopefully my next barricade will work and then I'll be back to the Pelican for the finale. This SLAASO wasn't that bad. I'm thinking POA will be the king of all them as far as difficulty goes.

  • 04.05.2011 5:24 PM PDT

You don't have to play alone, but in order for it to be "proper" Team Mythic, neither one of you can die over the course of the run.

Lnos slaaso is complete. Much thanks due to tyrant and all his hard work. I feel bad because tyrant had such a hard time with ultra in the room right before you go back to the pelican for the final part of the game. He had barricaded the doors but the ultra still got past it causing much grief only to be assassinated so easily. When I went through, he was stuck behind the barricade unable to shoot back as I peppered his shields away.

Actually that's what my test is over. I kind of like them tbh, they're simple to work with, it's just getting the concepts down that's the tough part.

Yeah, that pretty much happened to me too: I had forgotten to set up my barricade before proceeding to the bridge and did so only after killing the general. My barricade looked bad, knew it wouldn't hold them, but I proceeded anyways. Sure enough, when I went back to the cannon room, the tangos slipped through my crappy barricade like it wasn't there. The little guys are simple enough and I knew the ultra was gonna be a b!tch. But after awhile, he stopped moving. I snuck around the left part of the hallway and made it all the way to the upwards ramp, and there he was, crouched, taking cover behind my crappy barricade...with his back towards me. You can imagine what happened next. Idiot Elite, a shame to his line.

After dispatching him, sure enough, the end of the mission was a ridiculous piece of cake. I just can't imagine anyway you can complete it withoutjacking the invulnerable super pelican gun.

Same here; I'd really love to test myself in true Mythic, tossing in the insanity of coop.

If the Pelican gun gets destroyed before you can get to it, you can't use it.

Heheh...I scrambled like a mad man to get to it. It got blown up just a second or two after I "boarded" it (I wonder why in the first place is it possible to "board" it. An aborted decision for driveable Pelicans?). Anyhoo, good thing I got to it in time. If I had to ninja all those Ultras...especially the insane Four Horsemen at the end, then that would've been that for my SLAASO run.
